Jadon Sancho

I saw a 17 year old playing at Wembley this season in front of 72k and owning a £50m Italian international.

And yet that same player (who was actually 18) has barely been given a chance all season in the league. Which suggests that Sancho was actually right to leave when he did.

Sancho better than Sane?

PMSL.

Some Bluemooners need a reality check.

Oh, by the way, as has been stated numerous times, WE TRIED TO KEEP HIM BUT HE DID NOT WANT TO STAY.

Good luck to the lad but Sane is a level above him.

Has anyone actually said that he’s better than Sane?

Earlier in the thread, yes. Someone else recently alluded to it too.

Sancho left because he saw what was in front of him and decided to move on, which is fair enough.

I do find the love-in amusing though. A player who used to be here gets lauded to the skies, whilst players who are giving their all for CITY are constantly slagged off.

Nowt as queer as folk, as my neighbour used to say.

Sancho is a talented player and will probably go on to have a cracking career, i wish him all the best but comparing him to Sane is fuckin plain daft...! He has a long way to go yet before he gets to that level..!

He’s clearly not on Sane’s level yet, but at the same age Sane had only made two brief sub appearances in the Bundesliga so Sancho is currently miles ahead in his development.

I agree with that mate, i think going forward, dealing with a loss of form and maybe as few injuries along the way will be a good acid test for him on his road to the top, which i think he will achieve..!

The reality is that it really does not matter. He chose to leave despite us offering a huge contract to stay. Since he left, we have broken a number of records, are the reigning league champions and are currently top of the league and in all competitions. Players will come and go. Some of them will be very successful but as long as we are too, why the arguing about whether he's better or worse than what we have? We cannot prove it anyway but we are still Manchester City and these are the best times in our history.

I hate all this comparison of which player did what and when. At the end of the day we've got an amazingly talented player in Sane who was better at the time and Sancho wouldn't have achieved anywhere near what he has if he'd have stayed. In the end it worked out best for both parties.

It is disingenuous in my opinion. Used to 'support' an argument otherwise clearly lost.

Luke Chadwick broke into United's first team at an early age.

Jamie Vardy was signed in his late twenties by Leicester if I recall correctly.

Whose career would one say turned out rosier?

(Any flowery references get double points today :) )

He’s garbage letting those 3 goals in and being a show pony with no end product thats what happens when you ho a shat league up against inferior players to the premier league, at least he will start every game end up at the scum for 100m and on 200k a week where he will be even more hyped up to hell and then he will crash and burn end up at a bottom half team.

Returned from Spain today, had plenty of time in Aliiiicante Airport to read the Newspapers. Rancho had plenty of very positive pieces written about him, I wondered what heights the praise would have been if he had a really good game.

They were in truth probably written pre match.

He did as well as could be expected for an 18 year old -he is talented but not yet a world beater. Foden is behind him in terms of physicality but Sancho was still outmuscled by Sissoko when Spurs got their act together. No way could either play in City's first team regularly at the moment and we win the league. Both should be on the bench and learn from Pep and co.

Although I agree they both wouldn't lay claim to a permanent place in our team (can any player). The best way for young players to learn is playing games.

The issue we face is we have a big squad to compete on 4 fronts but when everyone is fit this means Foden misses out on a place in the squad. Dangerous game to play as we've seen with Sancho and Diaz leaving but luckily Foden is a blue.

What change, Poch "Vertonghen get forward as Sancho isn't disciplined enough to track back"

Two of their players mentioned trying to counteract his threat.

Yes, the 18 year old kid isn't yet better than Sané or Mahrez at tracking back.

So he therefore didn't actually frighten Spurs first half.more than any other Dortmund player & more than any Spurs player worried them.

Except he did, & everyone saw it, even including some City fans.

All of City's players were outmuscled by Sissoko.

Good luck to him, he'll learn loads more from starting games than just sitting on the bench or coming on for the last 5 minutes in games we've already won.
