If they want to stay with the first team then fair play, but you have to be deluded to think Pep Guardiola will be starting Doyle, Bernabe ahead of Foden never mind Kev, Bernardo etc, or Rogers ahead of any of the current forwards. At least Bernabe and Doyle have debuted and played a few minutes, Rogers didn't even go on pre season despite having signed.

Who has Foden started over in his first 4 years with the first team? & why would the youngsters who want to follow Foden's path expect anything different? beside waiting patiently for their chance?

Rogers signed on July 26th.

Foden was 17 in May 2017. Doyle, Bernabe and Rogers are all a year ahead of that. How can Doyle and Bernabe even feasibly get enough minutes to make it worthwhile not going on loan? Phil struggled to get 5 minutes off the bench last season in most games, what are Doyle and Bernabe going to do? Be happy just sitting in training then playing 5 minutes on your only bench appearance and a cup game once a month at most? At least one of them needs to go on loan so theres at least some worthwhile minutes available to them.

Yes Ezzy I'm sure you'd love to sell Kevin De Bruyne so the 16 year old at Leipzig we're definitely signing can be our starter but thats not how this club has ever operated and not how it will under Pep or Txiki. Go read my long post in the previous couple of pages.

1)What has Foden been doing in the first team for the past 4 year?(his role)

2)How many Minutes has he played?

3)why has pep refused to loan the "most talented I've ever seen" for first team minutes?

4)why is he still one of the promising Youngsters In England, that seems to only be getting better and better, compared to 95% of our players out on loan?

My point is Ezzy, Foden is one player. You're thinking Doyle and Bernabe will see it exactly like Phil. Phil from day one was told this is your place in the first team, you'll replace David Silva etc etc etc. Has that been happening with Doyle and Bernabe? Because they've sure been far less public about it if so than they were with Phil. Also, what if Doyle or Bernabe want a loan? Bernabe isn't a lifetime City fan, he was at La Masia and joined us. If he doesn't see a route to the first team, theres that lack of sentimentality and childhood dream that's justified Phil's decision and probably will with Doyle too.

And yes our loans have had limited success because the majority are happy to sit on their City wage instead of working hard so end up with bad loans and never progressing, but look at Jack Harrison and Tosin Adarabioyo. Jack will either go to Leeds permanently or move on this summer. Tosin will either return to the club or be sold this summer for tidy money. Angelino knew he wasn't getting the game time and his loan spell has done wonders, we'll make profit on him. Lukas and Patrick at Boro, maybe they finally get their move and go on to progress. There are success stories, but it starts with the players firstly being good enough and second working hard enough. I think both Doyle and Bernabe would see the advantage of a loan next season instead of taking an already limited amount of minutes off eachother.

He has been in the first team for 3 years not 4.

Imagine being 20, playing first-team football for one of Europe's best teams and being told you are the direct replacement for one of the greatest midfielders of the last decade. This guy is a talent, in a team of world-class, and is blessed. I do not get the negativity here when he has played 26 times and 1085 minutes so far this year, at 20. We are not Aldershot.

It's always worth noting with Foden too it looks like he's consistently improving. That would suggest something's being done right. If he were to look weak and struggle a load then we could argue his development has stagnated but the fact is that he's consistently been on an upward curve.

Of course there is a valid debate over whether his development could be even better had he had more appearances and minutes, but at the same time given his progression I do wonder if that'd be greedy of us to want that. Especially given how strong our team currently is.

Comparing Foden with Sancho is like comparing apples with oranges.

If Foden was as physically developed as Sancho he would've played even more minutes, even more regularly and at an earlier age.

However, as mentioned above he's been managed perfectly and getting better every game. He's regularly having an impact when he comes on and he's undoubtedly the heir to Silva's throne - except with more goals ;-)

Agree with all that, he’s a slip of a lad but looked physically stronger & pacey last night, let the boy develop there’s no rush, he’s probably gonna have a longer career as a benefit of being eased in, his skill set & position on the field mean he should be playing for us in his mid thirties. Think of it like puberty....those with a tash at 12 are normally bold at 30!

I think the frustration mainly stems from the fact that, whilst his game time isn't terrible on the face of it, it should be higher, purely based on merit.

He's performed in nearly every game he's played in, but there's been periods where he's played 3 consecutive games and then doesn't get another start for 1 month, despite completely justifying his inclusion.
