so can we do that with 12 youth players? Waiting for a chance to prove themselves?

or?

Is 5 already past the limit?

Jayden Braaf
Morgan Rogers
Adrian Bernabé
Tommy Doyle
Taylor Harwood-Bellis

Thats 5 players, 2 of which have never kicked a ball in the senior side and I dont even think the other 3 have 1000 minutes between them.

I am all for academy players, I loved it watching Foden, Doyle, Bellis making debuts as local lads who are all City fans, but they've got to earn their place and as a club who need to be competitive and one of if not the favourites in 4 competitions every year, young inexperienced players have their place, but who do you leave out?

Jayden? Thats one of Sterling, Mahrez, Bernardo and currently Sane you're leaving out instead
Rogers? Kun or Jesus
Bernabe? Sane, Sterling, Dave, KDB, Gundo, Bernardo or Foden.
Tommy? Rodri, Gundo or Kev
THB? Laporte, Stones, Otamendi, Dinho, Garcia.

We've got two lads who need more games next season. Phil and Eric, and they're slowly breaking through showing how hard it is. Phil spent a year with the first team in 17/18 barely ever playing. 18/19 he got a tiny bit more and started showing his true skills, and this year its a bit more. Its 1/2 season process without loans and thats assuming Phil gets his step up next season.

Before you put words in my mouth Ezzy like you do with anyone who disagrees with you this is what I believe: When there is a gap in the squad needing replaced, the club should always look first to the academy to see if there is anyone likely good enough to fill that spot effectively. Thats what happened with Phil and sort of with Eric. So lets try this with the current squad.

CB is a problem position, with us expecting to sell Otamendi and/or Stones we need at least one new CB.
So looking at the academy you can say the two likely candidates are Eric (now established first teamer and hasn't gone back to the academy this season) and Taylor (has made his debut & Pep is impressed but not full time with the first team). I think if both were to be here next season as full time first team it would effectively halve the minutes available to them, as Laporte and Fernandinho are still here & one of Stones/Ota might be or a new replacement, so naturally you'd assume to sending one of the two academy lads out on loan to get regular game time, which I'd guess would be Taylor - less minutes than Eric and a bit younger too, then re-assess upon his return from loan whether bringing him into the first team is better for the squad either by not buying a new player or selling a current one who's ready to move allowing Taylor to fill that spot.

That is my belief. If the squad is considering a transfer in, look to the academy first, if the manager doesn't feel theres anybody ready for this season and risking waiting a year for a youngster is too much, buy someone. If theres a player in the academy worth waiting a year of development for (like you could argue Phil was in 17/18), promote him to give occasional minutes and continue development in the EDS or loan out to a suitable club ready for the following season.

Out of the 5 you originally listed for the coming 20/21 season, I think Braaf could step up in place of Sane. Morgan definitely isnt ready and I wouldn't be risking it. One of Bernabe or Doyle might be useful as a bit part first team squad option but not both (like what I described above for CB) and Taylor as above probably is best suited to a loan spell if theres a suitable club - Blackburn have done a fabulous job with Tosin, so maybe he returns as the replacement in at CB and Taylor goes there for a year of development.

APOLOGIES FOR THE LONG COMMENT - LOTS TO SAY

And who is this YouTube tactical genius that is smart enough to explain why Pep Guardiola's tactics aren't working? Yet, Pep himself, a master tactician and some might say the best, isn't astute enough to figure it out and change the way the team plays?
Who said Pep wasn't smart enough to figure it out? I certainly didn't. I simply said the video explains the problems we've had with inverted wingers (enforced due to Sane's injury) this season. At no stage did I blame Pep or anyone else for that matter, so calm the faux outrage.

Jayden Braaf - First team
Morgan Rogers- see in pre season if not loan
Adrian Bernabé - see in pre season prob loan
Tommy Doyle - First team
Taylor Harwood-Bellis- Great player, prob won't get enough minutes so loan for a year with the aim of first team the year after.

I agree with that.

Braaf take over Sane's spot.

Doyle taking over Foden's spot with Foden getting more minutes.

Bernabe to Girona makes alot of sense to me, assuming we still have that partnership?

I'd like to see Stones, Otamendi gone, and Tosin brought in. If Pep likes what he sees in pre-season then make him 3rd choice. We still need another top CB. Fernandinho should go back to midfield imo, but doubt Pep wants that.

so what you opinion / stance of our handling of Sancho?

From what I believe happened (not that I know the ins and outs of it) it was a tough situation. Why would Pep give him the assurances that he will play when he wouldn't commit to the club?
Why would Jadon commit his future to a club when he wasn't sure he would get the game time he thought he was ready for?

For all the merit of what he has done since he left, he went to a league that was weaker than the Premier league. Some say he backed himself which I can see but personally I think if he truly backed himself he would have stayed and believed he would have done it here.

I personally still believe if he gets his head straight Stones is an immense partner to Laporte. I see Nico leaving and being replaced by Garcia, Stones and Fernandinho partnering Laporte, Taylor H-B if he has a good season will replace Fernandinho the season after.

I'd like us to move Gundogan on and bring in Aoar, Sancho and Ferran Torres. Have Raz, Mahrez, Sancho, Torres and Braaf as wingers with Kev, Bernardo, Rodri, Foden, Aouar and Doyle in midfield.

Agreed.

But there is no guarantee that Bernabé , Rogers, & maybe even Doyle, would want to go on loan though.

they could want to follow Foden's path of staying with the first team or
Sancho's by forcing a move instead of going on Uncertain loans.

I mean they just have to look at the results of 90% of our loan players.

So as proven by Foden, Hanging around the first team, even if barely starting, Is not a bad thing for our elite players.

Stones has 2 years left on his contract. Do we extend him this summer?

or take the risk to wait? because the worst case happens we would have to sell him for peanuts with a year left on his contract.

or even worse he decides to run down his contract.

No faux outrage here. Don't jump to conclusions. It isn't necessary. You seem incapable of interacting with other Blues here without arguing with, mocking or trying to belittle them in some fashion. Jog on, I for one, am not interested.

You were clearly insinuating I was blaming Pep when I wasn't and very clearly trying to have a dig in that respect, yet I'm the one jumping to conclusions and being argumentative. Nice spin but it doesn't wash.
