Of course we should sign him, he is english, home grown, we can sign him for a reduced fee and he is the most talented young english footballer in the game today with international and champs league experience......but we wont even try.

He is homegrown and he would be club trained too by the time he turned 21 if we bought him in the next 2 windows. You need 36 months between 15 and 21 but they dont need to be continuous. He was here for 28 months, so he'd need to spend 8 months registered at city before the end of the season he turns 21 (2020/21). If we bought him in the summer let's say July 1st, hed clock up 11 months, so hed make it comfortably.

And football leaks revealed we have a get a % of the fee as well.

Football leaks have all the documents to do with Sancho, and der Spiegel wrote an incredibly in depth series about him.

Nothing they've written has been disproven, they might have taken some things out of context to favour their narrative, but something as simply factual as a clause in a contract isn't going to be made up.

The homegrown aspect isn't something to sleep on either. It's been a minute but with Walker, Stones, and Sterling we have a pretty proven track record at this point of paying top dollar for English talent. Given that, his talent, and his Bundesliga production, if there wasn't this emotional baggage over him leaving two years ago 100% of people would be on board with this transfer.

That's not really true, it's brought up by people who hold a bit of a grudge and think that we won't go back in for a player once they've fucked us about. As if Laporte never happened.

Right, thanks for making my point. He had a fantastic season last year and is the first player in Europe's top five leagues this year to both score and assist 10 goals. It's patently absurd at this point to just not rate him. He's really, really good, and in an extremely obvious way. But maybe if there was some other reason not to like him...
