It comes from year and half of his contract left and the history that says he wasn't staying longer than that anywhere. Any player with that amount of time left on his contract is being talked about, so Pep will certainly be too.
The same Pep who only a few weeks ago said he was happy at City and was interested in extending his contract, so why have these stories of Pep leaving appeared in the media weeks before the transfer window will open in January

I don't care what he said, but what is on the paper. He said once that Stones has big balls. Players thinking about signing and giving an importance of being managed by Pep, won't care about what he said at some random pressie, they will look what is on the paper or some strong, strong assurance that he is staying longer.

The random pressie were he answered a direct question about his future
Hopefully Pep signs a contract extension soon would be a nice Christmas present for us

I absolutely hopes he does, I wouldn't replace him for anyone living. but he didn't answer anything that is serious enough for players to be assured he is staying and they will be managed by him if they sign. Being happy is not same as having a sign on the paper.

And that is the point of media,
Klopp signs extension to show future transfer targets he's committed to LiVARpool and media run stories of Pep leaving
It's like someone has told the media to report the stories of Pep leaving either side of the klopp news,

I'm not sure about that, tbh. If I'd be media, I'd question it too and I would surely question it around Klopp news too. We're their biggest rivals and that makes it newsworth. It's a legit stuff. Did they make up some of the stuff, I don't know. But I think it's legit theme to write about at this moment.

I believe the stories about Pep clause , Rodgers and Pochettino as replacements are true but old news things have changed
I believe Pep answered the clause question truthfully, he DID have a clause but it has expired the journalist asked DO you have a clause, the clause in his contract was probably the reason we were looking at Rodgers and Pochettino as his replacement.
True stories but old news so why did the media report them either side of the klopp news? Like I said it's like someone asked them to
