Wasn't utd crying poverty a few months back?
Also in debt yet tonight they agree 70m plus fee for sancho?

Looks like they've started the ball rolling, let's see how nice and polite they are when our targets arrive for a few quid.

Tbh it's possible this is partially why Sancho isn't seeing much time for England. Something similar happened to Silva when we signed him back in 2010.

He's a ridiculously productive player, especially for one of his age. If he stays there long term I'd be surprised if he didn't end up looking a bargain. It would be silly to suggest he's not a good signing IMO.

The only thing I would say, is it is not necessarily a signing in an area of need - they've got quite a few similar players who play in similar positions, and this will likely stunt Greenwoods growth given they've also kept Cavani.

OK let's just address this one quickly and nip it in the bud before they all start clamouring as if they've pulled the wool over Dortmund's eyes or some other nonsense.

The MAJORITY of transfers, especially the big ones, are amortised over the contractual length.

Happens at every big club to comply with FFP, absolutely nothing new.

Just a weird PR spin suggesting they've got some bargain to drum up the casual rag fan base.

Out of curiosity, anyone have a clue how a sell on clause is applied in player swaps? Hypothetically Sancho goes to Spurs in exchange for Kane...are we just out of luck?

Lots of fees have payments spread out, but isn't that something different to amortisation?

I thought amortisation is an accounting method that would apply even if the fee was paid up front in full?

Not sure if it's great PR, as you can either spin it as better value, or that United don't have the cash to pay in larger instalments.
