Jamal Khashoggi

So what are you actually saying? That the Saudis carried this out to create a diversion for western countries who are having a hard time?

That Russia stepped in to help out Mayday by poisoning two people directly and two accidentally?

I’m getting a string feeeling you subscribe to conspiracy theories in relation to geopolitical occurrences.

What would you have done?

Exhibit A

A Russian dissident and his daughter are poisoned on our soil. After investigation it is claimed the poison is Russian. Should May have just said, fuck it, they knew they had betrayed their country, there’s nothing to see?

We then discover two Russian “government” employees going to Salisbury, staying an hour etc. Again nothing to see from May? You say it was a diversion. What would have been the reaction if she did nothing? People are attacked on our soil, but she lets it go? Two of our own people are then infected, one dies. Nothing? Keep schtum? That’s nonsense. Yes it happened to provide a brief diversion, but Brexit didn’t go away. Brexit will never go away. She gained no advantage politically from it.

Are you also suggesting she shouldn’t have called out Russia? That her sole motivation for doing so because Brexiteers where doing her nut in?

You then see the delay in the calling out Russia more fully, by the time it takes to gather evidence. Evidence takes time to gather, to process. To show probable cause and perpetrators. How we proceeded is perfectly plausible. To suggest other motives is easy. But had she just avoided it, what kind of signal does that send out to hostile Govt’s? Come here and kill anyone and we will just let it go? Get real.

Exhibit B

Saudi send a hit squad to kill a dissident on foreign soil. They then deny it for two weeks. The Turks have obviously bugged their consulate, because they claim to have a recording, still denied by Saudi. Turkey then leak a bit at a time information that totally fucks up the Saudi narrative. Is he using it to cause the most diplomatic pressure on a state they are at odds with? Absolutely, so wound I.

Saudi is initially backed by Trump. Trump needs the money Saudi have promised to enable them to murder more Yemeni kids in school buses. Trump gives not one fuck, so he clearly doesn’t want this. The Saudi new guy doesn’t need this either. This has been a disaster. We then move to scapegoat stage. Saudis then claim it’s a rogue action. Trump says that credible because he wants it to go away. We then find out a double, a autopsy surgeon are among the group. Even US republicans are calling on Trump to do something. Nobody wanted this. This is not a diversion. This is potentially an absolute nightmare for everybody. Saudi have deployed home tactics at an away game. Their lying and excuses are laughable. Turkey will release their evidence, maybe even today. Trump is shitting himself. If it’s as bad as the Turks say, it puts massive pressure on him and to a lesser extent May.

For us, increased pressure is mounting to stop selling them arms to kill Yemeni kids going to school. Does May want or need that? No. She went after Russia asking for sanctions. So, the extension of that case, is applicable here too. If she doesn’t call for sanctions and back Turkey she is open to charges of, selling bombs to kill kids makes more sense that backing up a position of being consistent. Do you actually believe she wants ot needs that? Has it diverted focus away from Brexit? No, it has added another landmine for her to skirt around. So where is the diversion any of them want? There is none. This is a geopolitical fuck up, that was caused by the Saudis thinking their barbarism travels. That’s it. In order for anybody to take your claims seriously requires you to put meat on those thin bones you put up as an explanation of what is actually happening.,

Evidence, you make large claims, so for such claims I ask you. Where is your evidence that it’s all a diversion? It’s easy to claim the big illuminati type scenario. But I have yet to see one piece of actual evidence for this. If you have it, include it in your synopsis of the situation, it would give it Gravitas and not read as it’s all a cover up for other things. Without actually providing any grounds that such an argument could be tested upon, it’s a conspiracy theorists eternal fall back. They are all controlling everything for shady dark gov’t shenanigans of control.

It’s easy to make claims. Back them up. That’s the hard part. And always the missing part of any conspiracy out there.

You may not be prone to believing conspiracy theories, but how you phrase your concerns certainly reads that way.

You’ve quoted the wrong poster.

That's not how I read his post. I think you've gleaned completely the opposite implication to what he actually meant in his post.

I’ve quoted the wrong poster is absolutely possible. My point is to all that feel this is a diversion. Apologies for selecting the wrong post. It wasn’t intended.

It looks like Erdogan is willing to speak openly about what Turkey knows about what went on in the days leading up to and including the day of his death. This could get very interesting.

It has. Gave a timeline on the operation. Respectful to the Saudi King but didn’t mention MBS. Wants those ordering the killing to be tried in Turkey. Pretty much owned the moment.

I think the damage limitation machine is in operation. Erdogan didn't mention MBS or any audio/video tapes and for that, I expect that he will have extracted some huge concessions from the Saudis.

Agreed. Felt it was more Erdogan kept a lot back in anticipation of concessions (or further concessions) from the Saudis. Respectful but the knife was visible.

"Saudi Arabia said Tuesday that it has taken measures to reveal the truth about the incident that killed journalist Jamal Khashoggi and would “hold to account those responsible whoever they are,” according to a government statement following the weekly cabinet meeting chaired by the king in the capital Riyadh. The kingdom has initially denied any knowledge of Khashoggi’s fate, saying he left shortly after entering the consulate in Istanbul, while Turkish officials insisted that he was killed there. Saudi King Salman later ordered an investigation that acknowledged Khashoggi died inside the consulate and led to the arrest of 18 suspects in connection to the case. The king also sacked five top officials and ordered a restructuring of the country’s intelligence service."

I wonder if King Salman will have his son executed or locked up? Can't see it somehow.

Jamal’s son shaking the princes hand today - that handshake will haunt him for the rest of his days!
