I am sure James H left Revolution in May 09. He is still our Branch President but we have no contact with him after he apparently had a fallout with City. It had something to do with the ' Meet and greet ' in the Suites at Coms and I heard he felt he had been pushed out. I have never seen a Compere like James on Sportsmans Evenings, he could hold an audience in the palm of his hand and have everyone in stitches. His knowledge of the Blues is second to none and he holds the distinction of being on the Cameras when City beat Newcastle at Sid James Park when we won the 1st Div Championship. He will always be a true Blue and will never suffer fools gladly, a top,top man!

Does anyone have any contact with him, despite the fallout with City? If he is still your Branch President then surely someone has?

Talent like he has needs to be back in the public eye imho.

Used to listen to a half hour James H Reeve show on 5live called 'Bob Hatton Rattle'.
He did it with Tommy Docherty, in the nineties....anyone remember this??

One of the best progs ever on radio. A blue and a red with their own proggy. Superb. Don't know why it got kiboshed. Perhaps the same characters who have given us the joys of Alan Green.

I totally agree mate but he doesnt fit in with the current pc society that we have to live in. I will ask about and try to get in touch with him. As I have said before, he is one of us and is undoubtedly a lot funnier!

its very frustrating that such a well liked broadcaster cannot be on air for whatever reasons
i vaguely rememeber him being fired because of a misunderstanding of some remark he made
i think about racism where the wrong end of the stick was got by a member of the public ,who then complained which led to james being sacked.my memory isnt too good about this incident but i think the management wanted him out and saw the chance
he seems a bit of a difficult character to work with ,but brilliant to listen to

Onomatopoeia (a type of word that sounds like the thing it is describing.)

If anyone ever sees James just mention that word to him, funniest piece of radio I have ever heard when he was working for GMR.
It was a quiz he was doing and he was trying to give a clue to the contestant, about where a pint pot was in a pub. (On a mat up here)..
I couldn't possibly explain the question ,but I was crying in my car at traffic lights listening to it.

A great guy and a huge Blue, he should be back on radio

He's a top bloke. Have chatted to him on many occasions (not on air) and not only is he funny, dry and a top blue, he is very intelligent. Knows a shed load about World War One.

It is a terrible shame that KEY 103 sacked him off, because his show was excellent. Queries and Theories was brilliant.

reeve took over stannage's show on key 103, i loved listening to it while at work, some arsehole who used to call in every night (the agrophobic if anyone remembers ) annoyed him to the point where reeves swore at him, he complained to ofcom and reeve was sacked, this idiot also had a hand in stannage going as well.

james stannage sometimes compares a quiz night in the boozer on stalybridge station. (i think he lives that way)
wasn't the caller called jimmy white?annoying fucker,he also used to get a pissed up old women calling in on a regular basis ,chris evens was on after reeve the 2am till 6am show called himself the prince of darkness, must be about 25yrs ago when i worked regular nights

I used to listen in 88/89 I think when he did the late evening show. Jimmy White was one of the callers. I quite liked him as always tried to get on the show knowing that 9 times out of ten he would get cut off immediately.

I have forgotten most of the other regular callers but remember someone called Eric XX Gmex. Did he say "if it's entertaining, it must be entertainment!"

You could purchase a cassette of the last show he did of that era. Might just have a look on ebay.

Just seen this , he's on twitter

@henrywinter You are proof that if you sound educated and speak with tone of authority then people believe you even though usually it's cack

Fukin legend!
