They were both friendlies so perhaps it's a case of they know what to expect from McAtee and Tommy Doyle, so try others in their place. Of course it maybe bias on my part, but our teams are some of the best in the country (fact) at all levels (foreign players accepted) but you can't play our players exclusively for a number of reasons (and there are some exceptional players at other clubs). It's just that whilst we don't know if James will 'make it ' yet, at this level, it's crazy not to start him.
Some players in that U21 team are still being picked on reputation and who they play for rather than actual ability. There’s no way Skipp should be starting ahead of Doyle, or Jones ahead of McAtee.
