James McAtee

If people like the idea of him returning then how would they fill pages at Kovacic Thread Or Rice Thread Or Bellingham thread or new shiny toy thread. People already want Perrone out without being given chance so that they can see a new 80/100 m signing there

Fortunately Pep does his own thing and takes no notice what said on here. Thank God.

Being able to dribble pasted opposition with the ball is a asset but knowing when to get rid at the right time is a better one. I hope James has worked out the later because he`s got the former, I wish him well.
Something that Brahim Diaz never learnt the last time I saw him anyway.

Sometimes does him well and sometimes it doesn’t but he had a far better season than De Ketelaere who Milan spunked money on, I feel.

However, agree that knowing when to release the ball will do McAtee a world of good.

Can you buy a player you already own? Hes only been on loan at AC.
And still has 4 years left at Real. Do AC Milan make lots of subs because he's had plenty of minutes (2,684) in 45 games total involvement but he's only hit the 90 minute mark in 1 single game. This is from 37 starts and has only missed 1 game due to injury.

I'll take a wild guess and suggest he's going back out on loan at best, if not sold outright.

How many years has it taken for the penny to drop. Always had great potential but dribbled you’ll be lost possession.
Sadly I'm not sure the penny has dropped and he's 24 shortly. At U16s & U18s level it was a thing of beauty (Messi level even) but by U23s level he was playing against smarter and more experienced players who simply boxed him in. Even if it took 3 of them they knew he would still lose the ball. Even Pep couldn't convince him to look up.

I don't agree with this. Their manager kept faith with him after some poor initial performances and he managed to step up.

Yes the Blades might not be the most sophisticated team but Heckingbottom was willing to give two young loanees a platform in one of the most competitive leagues in the world. He was willing to put his reputation on the line and was rewarded for doing so but there aren't many managers who would do that.

McAtee deserves much credit for his determination but to suggest he somehow succeeded without the support of the Sheffield United coaching staff is bizarre.
I think there where sides in the championship that would of suited James more.As shows in his poor performances at the start of the season (neck ache) I think James is one of the best young midfielders in the country.yes Heckingbottom still gave him opertunities when he hadn't played well think that was more down to the way su play and what where his other option's ill play that other lad he can kick the ball even further than that other player .I also think with two loanees from city they took playing time of each other I don't care if su got promoted or not only what would of been the better loan option
