James McLean

"A convenient excuse"?
Jesus wept, man. Wind your neck in.
You're so busy projecting your own prejudices onto the guy that you can't get allow your jaundiced mind to accept that Bloody Sunday - and the kangaroo farce if an inquiry that followed - is a bloody good reason for anybody to eschew the Poppy Appeal.

Do you genuinely believe he’d wear one if it was only to commemorate those who died in the 2 world wars? It’s clear to see that he’s an IRA loving prick going off his latest comments.

I’ll also add that the Poppy Appeal doesn’t exactly champion what happened on Bloody Sunday - never has and never will - so even if that was a genuine reason for him not wearing it, he’s missing the point of the appeal anyway.

Dont like the player one bit. A bit of a gobby twat. His local town had some history with the forces, if i was him i would do the same thing. He's not hurting anybody

I take it you was there and saw it unfold?
I was, yeah.
Happy now?

The guy doesn't want to wear a Poppy. That's his choice. He doesn't owe anybody any explanation. Get over it.

I know and apologise to anyone offended, although the Armed Forces in 1613 were a lot different to the Armed Forces called upon on Operation Motorman in 1972 wouldn't you agree ?

I completely agree.

But the British army in 1972 were no angels. I don’t think we’ll ever know exactly what happened on that terrible day 46 years ago, and tensions were so high at the time that it didn’t take much to set off the chain of events that led to Bloody Sunday.

Who fired the first shot? Martin McGuinness?

Yes, I know he doesn’t owe anybody an explanation. I’m just calling out his explanation as bullshit. Funny how you didn’t answer my question by the way.

You are correct, but he doesn’t help himself, don’t wear the poppy no problem,he gets dogs abuse for not wearing one but just say nothing or post fuck all and after Remembrance Sunday no one will give to fucks if he wore one or not ..

Yeah, no denying a lot of shit went down on both sides during The Troubles.

Lots of Irish fought for the British Army in WW1 just to earn a wage because they were too poor to turn it down. Many died. I bet he doesn’t even know that

Right, you've convinced me.
He should wear his poppy to commemorate brave soldier 19 who pointed and aimed and shot dead an unarmed mother.

I didn't answer your question because it's irrelevant, hypothetical fantasising.
It's NOT just about the two World Wars.

That's fair comment.
In his defence, I think he was cornered into giving a response after the tabloids had used his choice to trigger the gammons.
