needs to get a chance in the middle, he isnt a winger

So what if he doesn't have the skill or vision of Yaya Toure. Milner is there to do the dirty work, and the rest do the rest. Just like De Jong did for us...

Milner whenever he's had the chance to play central has been fantastic, won his tackles. work rate faultless. Goes forward whenever he's allowed.

People say he can't pass or shoot, how would you know? he never get's chance to. Although at Villa he always did that, he scored some beauties which Aguero and Tevez would tip their hats to.

Against Villa last season, Milner to Johnson (one of the passes of the season), back to Milner, ball coming across him, side foot, goal. Shay Given nothing more than a spectator. That one passage of play summed up James Milner of Aston Villa.

Milner plays with his head down his footballing brain not as quick as the other mid field players. Perfect example yesterday Nasri put him, Nasri bust a gut to get in fantastic goal scoring postion Milner didnt see him. Milner crossed into the middle which was easily cut out by defender.

Funny we watch the same game but I totally disagree. Was poor yesterday but I rate him very highly. Great pass, great vision, great work ethic and energy. Too tired down when he's wide but does need to improve his game when we don't have the ball, although he's still very good. Would have him in a central 3 personally.

What are you on about. Kolo came on and was complete and utter wank so Milner was brought on to protect him and did a great job. He is never going to be a world class winger pinging in great crosses because it's not his bloody position. Milner is a central midfielder but he will never get to play there since we have so many players for that position. What you will get is 100% effort and none stop running for however long he's on the pitch. Stop expecting miracles from a player who is constantly played out of position.

Indeed. We need the likes of Dzeko and Milner in the squad. If we were just a team of artisans, people would moan about that as well. Balance, in football as in life. But WTF Kolo gets any game time for has been a mystery to me for longer than I care to remember.

He's average everywhere he plays.

CM, His performances there at Villa convinced us to spend 24 mill on him, yet we play him everywhere other than cm.

There's noway he'd start ahead of Yaya, Barry and Garcia in CM.

He's already been played there a few times, wasn't any better than he is now.

Can't see him getting ahead of Rodwell now either. I really like Milner but City's play is often just too slick for him. Great utility player though, if he's up for that role.

at the derby milner was probably one of the best passers in the game, often he is. He is good enough to be in the team
