James Milner

I've not read the entire thread - but from what I've read, Milner has been critical of us after he's left and has celebrated goals against us.

Not at all ideal behavior from a former Blue, but, IMO, understandable from someone who feels he had the talent to start but wasn't allowed to do so because of management (IMO he wasn't talented enough to start and management played him to his capability - a very good backup/occasional starter but not talented enough to nail down a starting role most games).

I'm willing to cut the guy slack for giving his all every game he played at City and for not stirring up trouble while in our side.

But I'm from across the pond and as mancityvstoke points out - my opinion might be far different if I were City born and attended City games/talked to City fans.

I think applauding the bricking of the coach on Twitter may be a bit more than being critical :)

Personally I never have an issue with players celebrating scoring against us, I think the whole act of not doing so, on the whole is pretty stupid, unless you have played somewhere all your career, or something like that. As much as I liked Milner while at City he does seem quick to give a negative soundbite and it's an irony that the press get all over Sterling a guy who Liverpool got a good price for, yet Milner who went on a free to them gets nothing.
And there is a huge irony when the press get on City supporters for booing Milner and say it shows lack of class and Sterling is showing immaturity when the booing from the Liverpool supporters get to him. As I recall when Milner first returned he was given a good reception its only more recently thats changed

How many trophies have we won since he left? And how many winners medals has he had since he left?

Delighted he didn't win the Champions League. I didn't like how he said he had gone to Liverpool to win trophies & was joining a bigger club after the way our fans loved him, add to that the whipping celebration when he scored against us? The man lacks class & i can fully understand why Villa & Newcastle fans dont like him. As I said at the time he will win NOTHING with Liverpool. The only former City player I don't like
Danny fucking Mills must run him close, Steve robbed a wage mcmanaman also are two I fooking hate

Funny thing is the last thing I watched on the City site before it was fucked up totally with the new one was Milner trying to kick a ball higher than Brooklyn bridge...

Liked his work rate and commitment when he played for us a stepping stone in the club's success...

I pissed myself last night when he was trying to break into the real box, he beat a couple of men and then tried to go past a third... and fell flat on his face. Fucking brilliant.

When milner was here i wasn't his biggest fan. I always thought he was limited but knew he put 100% in every game.
My opinion has been confirmed even more ...he is bang average and Im hoping his only medals in his career come from his time with us, cause one thing is certain, when he retires he wont be welcome back but all he will have to show is what he won with us....that will really rub on him
