James Milner

What I mean is if you attend games and see what actually happens from a match attending point of view you would probably understand the Milner issue a lot more. Watching on telly doesn’t give you the same experience and viewpoint. Talking to fans at the game etc and seeing stuff that you don’t see on telly etc

Plus it’s a bit more complicated than just his twatty goal celebrations

Read some of the previous posts for a flavour of it all

I guess that I have no fucking clue why *YOU* don't like James Miler - who did nothing wrong while in our side. So why not enlighten us? As opposed to making snarky comments.
Milner is a cvnt pal,the reasons are plentiful and have been covered to depth in this thread amongst others.

Either read it and educate yourself or take the word of supporters who are born and bred Blues.

Milner did a great job for us and we missed him when he left. We've moved on now and with hindsight it was probably best for us that he went.

Don't have a problem with him.

I've not read the entire thread - but from what I've read, Milner has been critical of us after he's left and has celebrated goals against us.

Not at all ideal behavior from a former Blue, but, IMO, understandable from someone who feels he had the talent to start but wasn't allowed to do so because of management (IMO he wasn't talented enough to start and management played him to his capability - a very good backup/occasional starter but not talented enough to nail down a starting role most games).

I'm willing to cut the guy slack for giving his all every game he played at City and for not stirring up trouble while in our side.

But I'm from across the pond and as mancityvstoke points out - my opinion might be far different if I were City born and attended City games/talked to City fans.

Whilst I agree supporting City abroad may allow you to detach yourself from the local noise & give a more pragmatic approach to issues & comments.

I would say it's not as bad in England then what some people have mentioned in say Italy & Spain which seems far more tribal where a player & manager's actions during & after their club careers are never forgotten & often discussed which will not be picked up on unless you're there.

In saying all of this I agree with most of the Bluemooners on Milner. Can't fault his efforts when he played for us (but then again it was his job & he got paid handsomely for it) but suggesting he was too big for the club & wanting to win trophies instead of fighting for his place in a team which was on the up at the time was a kick in the teeth to most fans.

Thankfully, we've moved on from him to bigger & better things.

Well said.

Delighted he didn't win the Champions League. I didn't like how he said he had gone to Liverpool to win trophies & was joining a bigger club after the way our fans loved him, add to that the whipping celebration when he scored against us? The man lacks class & i can fully understand why Villa & Newcastle fans dont like him. As I said at the time he will win NOTHING with Liverpool. The only former City player I don't like & never applaud when he turns up at the Etihad. Even Barton gets a clap but then again he was a much more important player for City.
