James Milner

Could be a turning point for James - interesting that Manuel kept calling him over for tactical instructions. He was magnificent today looked like he was our best left back! Also he showed that playing & training with the likes of Silva is nothing short of positive as his skill level has risen this season so far - hope he keeps it up. Loved his double tackle on Schurrle.

Whos the kid who played as Milner today? Did he win a competition or something? Sign him up!
Undroppable - and he was up against the best left back in the Premiership

Credit where it's due, he had one of his best performance in a blue shirt, MOTM with no contest possible.
And i agree that he has made major improvements in his final ball distribution.
Looking back to 2011-2012, he couldn't cross for the sake of his mother's life; now, he has added that ability to his range of skills.
A big asset to have in the squad, and since he is homegrown, we should extend his contract, no matter what he requests for.

Honestly, this will say a lot about Pellers these next few games - because IMHO, that performance today and his performance against Arsenal make JM a name amongst the first on the teamsheet. However he's not a 'fashionable' player or a 'big' name, and it's easy for a manager to drop him - knowing full well he won't kick up a stink.

Pellegrini doesn't strike me as someone who picks players on anything other than their ability/performances.

Great performance

How many positions did he end up playing in one single game?

If he left I will be sad, he is a great player to have and with regular games he will only improve.

Well played Jimmy

I made it four.

Right midfield first half. Central midfield when Jesus came on. Right back briefly after Zaba's second yellow and left back after Frank's introduction.

My MotM, but it was a close-run thing between him and the Mangler.

Jimmy was outstanding in every position he played and proved why he is loved by most City supporters. He gives his all for every minute of every game he plays. A true professional, who brings so much to our squad. With performances like he's given recently, it would be foolish of Pellegrini not to give him more game time.

I just hope he signs that new contract.

Great performance from Jimmy again , when new contacts were handed out this summer he should got his before the very disappointing Frenchmen Nasri .

quality right wing, centre mid, or left back, sign the lad up and play him more

He has been offered one hasn't he? Just chosen not to sign it over playing time. If he gets games then he may well sign it. I'm not sure why he would want to leave us if he is getting games.

My MOTM his work rate is unbelievable really hope he signs the new deal! If not we will be forced to sell in January he will be tough to replace be it then or in the summer. Needs to pen the damn contract!lol

I honestly think if you asked most PL managers who theyd most want to sign apart from the obvious, Milner would be near the top. So versatile, consistent, severely underrated, English, homegrown.

Best game hes ever had IMO. That and Bayern.

I don't get this "he might not be as technically gifted as Nasri, but...." garbage.

He might not look as natural/arrogant with his game, but he is technically better at being in the correct position, making the correct runs, picking the correct pass, taking the ball past a man, intercepting, tackling, harrying and generally winning possession back. They are similar in shooting ability, and I have no idea re heading ability...

At the end of day, he is head and shoulders more effective and important for and to the team, in my opinion. If that doesn't make him technically better than Nasri, then I have no idea what would.

To beat Vinnie to MOTM today required some fooking performance, hats off to him!
