If he's strong armed the club to his advantage, well it's actually balanced out the team and he's in it on merit now and can't see him permanently left out unless he loses form dramatically in the next few weeks!

Mr Pellergini knows the value of Milner now as he's one of our more consistent performers and I think JM will sign a new contract as a result. He will only be signed by a lesser club with less chances of a trophy/ medal, otherwise and JM knows it.

I've no idea what you're talking about mate. My point is crystal clear. Milner is going to leave on a free thus costing City the better part of 20 million pounds or whatever we would be able to get for him on the open market. This isn't a good thing and this isn't something which City will be happy about. Especially if my hunch about where he's going is right.

Are you suggesting that because he's never done it before it means he'll never do it. If that's the case then I disagree. There's a first time for everything. And right now he's hardly showing a willingness to sign up when the contract has been on the table since April.

That's got nothing to do with his contractual situation. Players regularly sign contracts and then move on within 12 months.

However I've already said enough times that all he has to do is sign the contract to prove me wrong, and that I'd be delighted if he did as he's a top player and I want him to stay. Milner has never said a bad word about the club and is trying to ensure that he not only gets the contract he deserves (he only plays about four positions PER GAME for us!) but that he makes it known he wants to play.

Model pro who has not put a foot wrong in this whole thing. He wants to stay, but he also wants a decent deal...money and football wise.

Personally, I'm surprised City were so quick to grab Nasri for another five years, as I don't think of him as a core player in the squad going forward. However, Milner is most definitely a core squad player and could be for another 10 years given his fitness and work rate.

Some people need to show him the respect he deserves considering what he does for this team and this squad.

Jimmy talks a good game with regards how much he likes being at City. And honestly I've nothing but good things to say about him as a footballer. I think he's top drawer without being world class, I think he's at his peak, his performances have shown in the last few weeks he's good enough to play for us regularly. His versatility, work rate, quality, fuck he is the model pro as many say.

However it just bugs me that he hasn't put pen to paper. Now hopefully he does that in the next couple of weeks and I'll happily apologise for calling him out for wanting to leave on a free.

I really don't want to leave the impression that I don't rate him, don't support him, or don't want him at our club. Nothing could be further from the truth.

There are pros and cons to a bit part player signing a new contract. The pros are that we can get a wedge from selling him and have a committed player on the books. The cons are that we pay a signing on fee, that the player gets injured and we still have to pay him or that the player is getting paid just for sitting on the bench.

Clearly Milner is a model pro - I don't think you can argue with that. He wants to play football and he works hard and commits himself to any position. He might not be the most naturally talented player but through hard work he has managed to make an impact for City despite people judging him as being below the standard required. It's clear that he wants to play regularly and this season is doing so. You can't fault him for taking time to decide his position. Maybe City aren't showing him loyalty or respect and are offering him terms he can't accept. If it was Aguero or Silva we would be calling for the club to simply pay up in order to keep him. I think with Milner it is more difficult. He has featured in more or less every game and started most and therefore Pellegrini is showing him we rate him as an important player, that is the best way to pursuade him to sign for the club.

If he goes to a rival then we can't really bemoan the situation and blame the player. He will have gone to a club that promise him regular games and who were willing to pay him accordingly. I think we should be doing everything we can to keep him at the club because his versatility is such an asset for us. On form he is an incredible talent and similarly to Dzeko, the more he plays the better he gets.

Having watched Milner last night all my negativity came back as regards his suitability to our squad. Poor passing, caught in possession, lack of control and poor decision making.
Please do not get me wrong because I like the lad and think he gives 100% commitment all the time. But is he he right for regular starts? The answer has got to be no and just used as a squad player.

The Serie A outfit have been keeping close tabs on the winger and are expected to make their move in the next transfer window.

The news will put pressure on the champions to agree a new deal with Milner and secure his long-term future.

Milner is out of contract at the end of this season and will be free to talk to other clubs in January.

He revealed earlier this week that club boss have opened talks with his representatives about an extension to his current deal, but no agreement is close.

With interest from abroad, Milner could now decide to wait and see what options he has on the table before pledging his future to Manuel Pellegrini's men

Not one of the bigger cogs, but a smaller one that the clock doesn't work right without. The sort of player that wins titles, without grabbing the headlines.

He's one of my favourite City players, no matter how much better some of our other players are than him.

I really hope he stays with us!
