James Milner

Nasri was one of our best players in the first half of last season. He made a good contribution to us winning the title.

If he's been carrying an injury this season then people should cut him some slack before getting the knives out. Let's see how he performs when he recovers rather than pre judging who should play. I didn't hear many City fans complain when he got a new contract. Most thought it well deserved at the time.

Also think it's funny that there seems to one or two who are actually praising Milner for not signing a new contract.

Would love to see their reactions if he fucks off to a direct rival on a free next summer.

Nasri put pen to paper on the contract he was offered because he loves being at the club. Milner whilst paying lip service to how great our club is, seems hell bent on keeping his options so open that in just under two months time he will be free to talk to whoever he chooses.

I'll go back to being a Milner fanboy when he signs that contract. Until then I think he's a cheeky **** taking the piss out of the club.

Strange thinking.

Is it so bad that a professional football player just wants the chance to show his boss what he can do on the field? Is it his fault he's English and fills the 'home grown' quota needed by the club? If he's strong armed the club to his advantage, well it's actually balanced out the team and he's in it on merit now and can't see him permanently left out unless he loses form dramatically in the next few weeks!

Mr Pellergini knows the value of Milner now as he's one of our more consistent performers and I think JM will sign a new contract as a result. He will only be signed by a lesser club with less chances of a trophy/ medal, otherwise and JM knows it.

In light of our current FFP predicament, I would suggest that losing a player on a free who on the open market is worth 20 million pounds isn't something which is going to make anyone happy. The fact that player seems to think that it's okay for him to "strong arm" the club is an even bigger piss take.

Dzeko, Nasri, Kola, Silva, Kun, Vinny - all committed their future's to the club. You really think that this is about Milner playing an extra 10/15 games at a club like Hull or Everton? I don't. I think he's been tapped up and we're in for a nasty surprise when we find out who it is. Up to him to prove me wrong.

But, that doesn't make any sense...

What is he gaining to demand more playing time and "contribute" than just sitting on the bench, collecting his wages and moving to another team??

I've no idea what you're talking about mate. My point is crystal clear. Milner is going to leave on a free thus costing City the better part of 20 million pounds or whatever we would be able to get for him on the open market. This isn't a good thing and this isn't something which City will be happy about. Especially if my hunch about where he's going is right.

How can you not understand the basic format of my simple question??

For Milner to 'walk', he would have shown propensity for it before, at some point, in his career.

Can you name me a time that he's walked out on a club rather than be sold...??

Milner is a fiercely proud professional that wants to show he belongs in a side.

I think you're wrong, but will be happy to apologise should your thoughts be proved correct. I'd expect the same back should you by proved wrong, but I won't hold my breathe...

Because it's very clumsily worded. However you seem to have rectified that below so I'll answer as best I can.

Are you suggesting that because he's never done it before it means he'll never do it. If that's the case then I disagree. There's a first time for everything. And right now he's hardly showing a willingness to sign up when the contract has been on the table since April.

Milner is a fiercely proud professional that wants to show he belongs in a side.

That's got nothing to do with his contractual situation. Players regularly sign contracts and then move on within 12 months.

I think you're wrong, but will be happy to apologise should your thoughts be proved correct. I'd expect the same back should you by proved wrong, but I won't hold my breathe...

With an attitude like that you probably shouldn't.

However I've already said enough times that all he has to do is sign the contract to prove me wrong, and that I'd be delighted if he did as he's a top player and I want him to stay. And of course I'll apologise if it turns out he signs up. I'm just incredibly worried that he won't because he's been tapped up.

Milner has never said a bad word about the club and is trying to ensure that he not only gets the contract he deserves (he only plays about four positions PER GAME for us!) but that he makes it known he wants to play.

Model pro who has not put a foot wrong in this whole thing. He wants to stay, but he also wants a decent deal...money and football wise.

Personally, I'm surprised City were so quick to grab Nasri for another five years, as I don't think of him as a core player in the squad going forward. However, Milner is most definitely a core squad player and could be for another 10 years given his fitness and work rate.

Some people need to show him the respect he deserves considering what he does for this team and this squad.

Do you think the club deserve the respect of not having him walk away on a free or do you think it's totally fine if he goes to another PL club next June?

Well I suggest, 'Mister Appointment', that you listen to the last few interviews JM has said on the matter, then you will understand how I paraphrased things...

Jimmy talks a good game with regards how much he likes being at City. And honestly I've nothing but good things to say about him as a footballer. I think he's top drawer without being world class, I think he's at his peak, his performances have shown in the last few weeks he's good enough to play for us regularly. His versatility, work rate, quality, fuck he is the model pro as many say.

However it just bugs me that he hasn't put pen to paper. Now hopefully he does that in the next couple of weeks and I'll happily apologise for calling him out for wanting to leave on a free.

I really don't want to leave the impression that I don't rate him, don't support him, or don't want him at our club. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Mister Appointment routinely abuses any Blue who fails to share his view that Nasri is some sort of superior being.

The acid test for me has always to put that player in a rags side facing us. Would I be quaking in fear if they had Nasri ? I don't think so.
Similarly if they had Jimmy I wouldn't be quaking but would be quite concerned that his energy ,versatility, strength and desire might be a problem.

Excuse me? There's no need for that. No doubt you'll now complain i've abused you again for asking you to not arbitrarily talk shit about me. Again.

There are pros and cons to a bit part player signing a new contract. The pros are that we can get a wedge from selling him and have a committed player on the books. The cons are that we pay a signing on fee, that the player gets injured and we still have to pay him or that the player is getting paid just for sitting on the bench.

Clearly Milner is a model pro - I don't think you can argue with that. He wants to play football and he works hard and commits himself to any position. He might not be the most naturally talented player but through hard work he has managed to make an impact for City despite people judging him as being below the standard required. It's clear that he wants to play regularly and this season is doing so. You can't fault him for taking time to decide his position. Maybe City aren't showing him loyalty or respect and are offering him terms he can't accept. If it was Aguero or Silva we would be calling for the club to simply pay up in order to keep him. I think with Milner it is more difficult. He has featured in more or less every game and started most and therefore Pellegrini is showing him we rate him as an important player, that is the best way to pursuade him to sign for the club.

If he goes to a rival then we can't really bemoan the situation and blame the player. He will have gone to a club that promise him regular games and who were willing to pay him accordingly. I think we should be doing everything we can to keep him at the club because his versatility is such an asset for us. On form he is an incredible talent and similarly to Dzeko, the more he plays the better he gets.

I have a different view on nasri but he's never abused me. Just debated his strengths in an intelligent way.

Having watched Milner last night all my negativity came back as regards his suitability to our squad. Poor passing, caught in possession, lack of control and poor decision making.
Please do not get me wrong because I like the lad and think he gives 100% commitment all the time. But is he he right for regular starts? The answer has got to be no and just used as a squad player.

Roma in £10m Manchester City raid for James Milner

ITALIAN giants AS Roma are plotting a £10m bid for England and Manchester City star James Milner.

Roma in £10m Manchester City raid for James Milner TARGET: Roma have apparently been keeping tabs on James Milner for some time [GETTY]

The Serie A outfit have been keeping close tabs on the winger and are expected to make their move in the next transfer window.

The news will put pressure on the champions to agree a new deal with Milner and secure his long-term future.

Milner is out of contract at the end of this season and will be free to talk to other clubs in January.

He revealed earlier this week that club boss have opened talks with his representatives about an extension to his current deal, but no agreement is close.

With interest from abroad, Milner could now decide to wait and see what options he has on the table before pledging his future to Manuel Pellegrini's men

Not one of the bigger cogs, but a smaller one that the clock doesn't work right without. The sort of player that wins titles, without grabbing the headlines.

He's one of my favourite City players, no matter how much better some of our other players are than him.

I really hope he stays with us!
