i think it could make sense if we bought Trafford and sold Ortega, considering the amounts of rumoured for the bids of Ederson make him see out his contract. See if Trafford can step up and having Ederson around means we are in no worse a condition in GK department than this season. If it fails then revisit the goalkeeper situation next summer

Don’t think Newcastle agreed a fee with Burnley, seems Newcastle fans annoyed because they could have agreed a fee and got it done with Burnley weeks ago before any of this came up,and he’d have gone. He got a very serious injury towards the end of the season in the champ. He had a very good season and was starting to really grow as a keeper. He ended up on loan in belgium to get some fitness after southampton bought ramsdale. I dont think they buy ramsdale if Bazunu doesnt get injured, bazunu far better at playing out from the back than Ramsdale and thats how martin plays.

So wait to buy him for £70m of Newcastle in 2-3 years. City always buy well apart from a few rare pieces of business. I have no doubt in my mind that Trafford will be the same.

Bazunu is a very good keeper.
Injury has halted his career. Was Ireland no 1 keeper, ahead of Kelleher and Travers.
Not sure if he will ever recover full fitness.
I think he's a better shot stopper than Trafford but Trafford's overall game and decision making may be better.

What he says is fairly generic. The question is framed in such a way to suggest it, and they are almost looking for him to say that, but he stops short of it, and talks about the top level as a general concept. Rightly so, because why would he disrespect burnley, or close down future options.

But I agree, there is probably a part of him that does want it, he is just being sensible in not saying it.

I do think people are making the assumption too readily, and there is nothing real to back it.

Time will tell though, might all happen in the next couple weeks.
