Not sure he’s that good with his feet. I’ve never seen him do anything close to what Ortega can do, let alone Ederson.
From what I remember He was pretty good in the academy on the ball. I don’t think there are any keepers as good as ederson on the ball either.

It would have been interesting to compare ederson/ ortega with Trafford when they were 20 years old

I don't think there's any chance of hin rejoining.

Regardless of what level people think he's at now or potentially he won't be joining us as a backup keeper those who think he would are thinking without logic, at his next club James Trafford needs to be joining a team where he's first choice keeper he needs it and isn't getting that with us or any big side.

Right now due to his age and the current hype around him he's in pole position to be England's next first choice keeper, he won't or shouldn't be sacrificing his big chance by becoming a backup keeper at any team no matter who they're.

If he's thinking about his potential England career even slightly then being a backup keeper for us or any other team won't help, if he was a born and bred fellow blue then it might make sense for him but why would he put his England chances at risk?

When taking age into account as I've said then his competition at the moment to be Pickford's long-term replacement are nowhere near him, seeing as Ramsdale and Henderson don't have redshirt careers anymore and aren't at top half of the table clubs their hype is gone.

All things taken into account it makes no sense for him or us as Trafford needs to set himself apart from all his closest rivals for an England spot, plus any young keepers that may emerge so he needs to be on it keeping any head start he'll have on them by playing, all it might take is a young English keeper starting after a first choice is injured while Trafford is benched and he'd be gazumped for the England squad.

He needs to play for a team that'll start him week in week out.

Well that's a terribly silly to say. We have a buy back and a sell-on clause for a reason. Oh, and two aging keepers.

Baseless claim. Trafford could very well be our number one for the next 10 seasons if he continues on his current trajectory. The lad only just turned 22, and is already likely to be in the England squad for the upcoming World Cup.

Not sure what your point is? If traffords not good enough, what does it matter if ederson and ortega aren’t either?

I haven’t seen him this year but he was hopeless last season. Seems burnley are built on defence first which will aid Trafford. So much so that there is unrest from burnley fans in the boring football despite results.

Agree. It seems like they're more bothered about breaking clean sheet records than actually winning games and achieving promotion. Not saying Trafford is a good or a bad keeper, but you can't judge him just off numbers given the way the team is setting up.

Not silly and no less a baseless claim that he could become our number one for the next decade, Ederson isn't even 10 years away from 22 but you're already shipping him off to the old folks home.

James Trafford is not going to be our number one if he joined this summer and he needs to play regularly if he's got ambitions to be the next England keeper, he might be just 22 but he's not even at the same level as a 20 year old Joe Hart or a young Paul Robinson was and while he's doing well now it's still not enough.

This isn't to say James can't become a top keeper but he's not immediately going to be our number one if we sign him in the summer, so next season whether he's at Burnley or elsewhere he 100% needs to be number one there or he could very easily lose his England squad place.

I've already said his hype of late has seen him jump ahead of Ramsdale and Henderson but being benched at club level would immediately reverse that, if those two are playing regularly and he isn't then along with Pickford already being number one too, not only would he likely benched at club level (here) he also wouldn't be making any England World Cup squad as a bench player.

So I really doubt he's rejoining us and I'm basing that assumption on the logic that he wants to be England's first choice, the best thing he can do is carry on doing what he's doing at Burnley and if they do well stay there.

He would need to have a good year in the prem combined with the excellent timing of Eddie/Ortega leaving for this to happen. Great player but I dont think he'll ever make it here.
