Jamie Carragher

The castrated dolphin came out with something similar not long ago - something along the lines of viewing figures for city games don't even move the dial, everyone wants to watch utd or the dippers. If that's the case then squeeky boy, why aren't the top 10 (or whatever) most watched PL all utd v liverpool, pretty sure one or two of our games feature in that list?

Historically nokia was the biggest phone company until they were knocked off by apple, historically ford was the biggest motor company until they were overtaken, historically debenhams was a high street behemoth until amazon came along, napster ruled until spotify, blockbuster was huge until netflix the list goes on and the lesson is you may be historically big but it counts for the square root of fuck all.

I dont expect someone as intelectually challenged as spitty to understand that and he will forever preach to his target audience of equally hard of thinking people but telling people what they want and need to hear doesnt equate to reality only their skewed perception of it.

"My club is bigger than yours" is such a tragic, infantile argument. Who gives a shit?! It's proper playground stuff.
especially when the parameters are undefined. The only thing they have is that historically they have won more trophies, specifically more european trophies and to be honest they shouldnt even be able to claim that as they denied teams the right to win a trophy for five years in europe.

I can honestly say that when we were relegated to League One, that I never once thought:

"Oh well, Stockport might be in a league above us now but at least we're the bigger club!"

It means absolutely nothing.

I suppose his day job is to appease the most subscribers of Sky which is not City.
Works well when Pool do well but he just switches to United to sell Sky when days like against City happen.
I stopped Sky, for a number of reasons, before the Rat & Flipper double act. Only watch it in the pub for City games.
Does Gary Neville default to the same claim as Flipper, that City will never be bigger or as successful as the Red Arse Cheeks ?
If yes, then it's an absolute farce that these 2 sad-acts try to keep the duopoly ongoing.
It reminds me of the New Musical Express journalists who would only only "like" or promote/cover a certain type of music, refusing to report on other genres.
Look what happened to the NME...

I think it's because they can't/won't accept that being a "big club" and having a lot of fans is as simple as success x time.

It makes someone like Carragher feel less special if he's told that there's nothing inherently unique about Liverpool that make them "big" except that.

"History - For when you've got nothing else left"
A few Dippers (hardly any scousers of course) were playing the history card on Wembley Way after we beat them in the 2019 Community Shield.
I said I'd rather die with our history than live with their shameful history.
They soon shut up.
