Jamie Carragher

I think they have this really badly misguided opinion that viewers tune in BECAUSE of gozzer and his snidey side kick nev.

Ive never paid for sky, but for some reason sky think we all love them twos horrific ‘bantz’ and fan boy way of commentating.

Somebodies got it badly wrong, other pundits were binned off for much less than spitting at a child.

Cant wait for the day the dipping gob shite gets humbled and farmed off to talksport
His mouth is going to get him in trouble. On Paramount, it already has, and forced a few awkward climb downs.

He thinks he’s hilarious. Others don’t think so.

I disagree with your view that we would never be as big as Liverpool and United in the UK.
They became big by winning trophies. The same will happen to City if we continue to dominate and win the big trophies.
The evidence of massive growth is right in front of us.
For example, when I started attending games at the Etihad, it had a 43k capacity or thereabout and hardly sold out excect for a couple of big games during the season. Today, the club is expanding towards more than 60k capacity. That is almost 40% growth in attendance figures. This is huge.
Also, it was rare to see kids wearing City tops outside of Manchester in the past. Today, kids now proudly wear City tops across the country and in many parts of the world. I was in Tirana last month and guess what, I saw someone wearing a City top.
If these trajectory continues, City would become even bigger than Liverpool and United not just in the UK by across the world.
However, City will remain small only in the minds of people like Carragher and Neville because they choose to live in the past.
I like your optimism m8 I really do,, around the world your absolutely spot on we are getting bigger n bigger,, but over here let's be honest here it would take another 20 years of dominance to get the same pull as shited and pool,,, and that's on top of the smear( sorry charges) campaign that has definitely affected the clubs growth on our own shores

I disagree tbh. All of my friends in work and from uni have city supporting kids. None from Manchester. Give it 5-10 years and we will be in a position of parity at least. And if we can sustain performances for that time then we will have that generation too.

You are dead on with this. I live in a village 15 mile from manchester that weirdly has a high proportion of people from other parts of the country that have settled here.
A big Cov fan who attends a fair chunk of cov games; sons a city fan.
An austrian brighton fan; sons a city fan.
A mackem, mackem thru n thru; sons a city fan.
And many more.

But this actually makes me pissed off with the club. They should be targeting these kids and get them at games and buying season tickets with their dads (who , albeit reluctantly, go to city games with their kids) and future proofing our support rather than targeting and pandering to tourists

One of my uni mates is from Devon, lives up north now. Doesn't even like football. His lad is a big city fan. We were chatting and my mate was going on about the charges, his son just shrugged and said shut up dad. If we are found "guilty" things might change but people want to be associated with success and whilst it keeps coming we will continue to attract fans. Now there's a debate to be had about whether that is a "good" thing (fans used to and only wanting success), but that's another story

Your mate’s son seems a very intelligent and thoughtful young man.
