Jamie Foxx Racist Comment

Identifying someone by the colour of their skin is racist behaviour. Foxx's comment does just that but it is very very tame and not something to get worked up about. I do think there would have been more of a social uproar had it been said by a white man tho, which is a shame.

No,identifying someone by the colour of their skin is not,in itself, racist.
Making assumptions, generalisations and/or derogatory comments or negatively portraying that person based solely on their skin colour would be racism.
How is pointing out someone by skin colour,(although not a criteria I would choose) inherently racist?
If I point out that a car is blue, how does that imply an agenda or prejudice beyond mere observation?
It is a statement of fact, not judgement.

racism |ˈrāˌsizəm|
noun
the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, esp. so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.
• prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on such a belief : a program to combat racism.

Identifying, and laying claim to, someone based on the colour of their skin is fundamentally racist. Pointing out someones skin colour is not.

Racism is an ugly form of collectivism. It's the mindset that views human beings only as members of groups, not as individuals. Also, I believe the "-insert race- Pride" groups are also guilty of contributing to racism, inflaming racial tensions, by only thinking in terms of groups... the same can be said for state intervention in this area.

As I said, Foxx's comments are very tame but they are a sad indication of the state of western society with regards to racial matters.

Both were relevant events at the time…….. The issue I have is that none of the above were mentioned when he was looking for erratic behaviour from young “stars” in America!
Considering the Chris Brown story was on of the biggest at the time…I cant understand why this wasn’t mentioned………

You caught a section, in time. How do you know he hasn't mentioned it, elsewhere??

Secondly, when others have already spoken about such things at great length, why should he also put in his '2 cents worth'??

Do you know if Denzel Washington has? Or Mr Snipes? Why select Foxx in this whole affair?

Ill thought out point, Samba.

I'm disappointed.

My point was that he called her a "WHITE woman" ..... and then proceeded to compare her to other teen stars ………
Why call her a WHITE woman??? ........... Can you imagine the fuss if somebody like Miley Cyrus had called Jamie Foxx .... a Black (Insert your own swear word)

Samba has a good point here Bigga. If a white celebrity called a black celebrity a 'black woman' then people would be up in arms (& rightly so), so what is the difference here?

Right, first of all, others on this thread have said those words did not come from Foxx's mouth. So, she needs to pick the right context of argument!

Secondly, she's totally ignored my other points, when hers is the wrong point of view.

Fancy answering my questions, Samba...?

He probably has mentioned this somewhere else….. maybe he has made a comment with relation to that particular event somewhere down the line… I don’t have time to go through all the Google archives for Jamie Foxx Quotes …
Firstly – If SOMEBODY else called her a “White Bitch” …was there any objection from anybody on that recording? Nope! If he is going to judge other people and make ridiculous remarks based on her colour/ appearance / personal relationships then he needs to be able to look in the mirror and put up with the backlash from those comments…… He point blank refused to apologise
Others have spoken about Britney and Lohan to the point where I am stick to the back teeth of it…… but it dint stop him putting his 2 cents worth in on this occasion did it?

My point was simple….. if he is going to “take a pop” at a teenage star – the fact she is White Is irrelevant – this was used as an insult … if the tables were turned there would be uproar!
Also if he is using other “stars” as examples of how not to behave…. At the time the Chris Brown story was the most obvious one to use…….. His behaviour was inexcusable…. But then again ….Chris Brown isn’t a “White woman is he?”

has he got a film coming out? no such thing as bad publicity.

Funny to see all the lefties on here say it's not racist, and the only defence they can muster up is that a black man said it. It would be 'different' if a white man had said the same thing about Elvis/Lennon.

PMSL

When are the MOWO awards this year by the way?

If you feel so strongly that there should be a 'MOWO' why don't you make one up, if not shut up.
