This is not a dig as i really don't know but what are Belgium like defensively as they did not qualify for Euro 2012.

Must be a reason why Mancini went for Savic and not this guy in the summer.

you do know that kompany and vermaelen are belgium right.

They have an excellent defense and are one of the best young national teams in Europe. They will be a force in the next World Cup.

Kompany and Vermaelen holding down the middle of the defense.

Vertonghen at either LB or Holding Mid.

Hazard out on the wing.

Lukaku bagging goals up front.

No doubt they have loads of talent but it isn't showing yet as a team, they weren't very good in Euro qualifying and couldn't even reach the qualification playoffs ahead of Turkey. They might be better by the next WC but like Kompany, Vermaelen, Vertonghen, Fellaini, Witsel, Defour, Mertens, Dembele... none of these are kids and when you add them to the already high quality Hazard they should be doing better. I guess it is a great forward they lack so Lukaku may solve that if he actually develops into what is expected.

After so much tracking and scouting done on him if we don't sign him this summer and lose him to some other club it will be a real Shame to not see Him And Kompany partner CB .

Both will be perfect together. Kompany has already stated he wants him here ... + they play for their country together to.
This is ONE deal i really want City to do .
Fantastic player only 24, Tall , Strong , has got the flair and a LEADER.. very similar to Vinny .
Wouldn't we want a another Vincent Kompany ?

A shame it's Footy Bunker though, it isn't a legitimate source/site. I just had a prowl of Google and saw some foreign sites with the same, getting my hopes up, but they use Footy Bunker as the source! Nothing on any German sites.

He would be a fantastic signing though. A lot of people are calling for Samba types and they would be OK for depth but for real genuine quality to line up alongside Kompany we need to look more at players like Silva and Hummels. Also, Dede from Vasco da Gama is very highly rated and has Real Madrid, Chelsea, and others looking at him. Supposed to be the best CB in Brazil.

Isn't Jan Vertonghen supposed to be quite slow ? I wouldn't know I haven't seen him play.
If we did sign him, Ajax fans would despise us even more.

Not saying Verthongen isn't the man for us, but over the last year or two we've been linked with so many Belgian players. If all these guys are so good, how come Belgium aren't ?
