January transfer/its quiet Thread

All I want over the next two windows is Sanchez, VVD, Weigl and Alaba. That's not asking too much is it? Oh and an English replacement for Bravo as second choice keeper.
Alaba isn't much better that Delph nowadays, has declined after several injuries. There's a strange lack of worldclass fullbacks in football right now.

Arteta and Txixi in the crowd watching Everton V Lyon. I assume they are looking at a Lyon player. Anyone know which one?

We have a brilliant squad.

The one thing I don't get is that it seems another striker (where we can play Aguero Sterling and Jesus) and another left back (where we can play Delph and Danilo when Mendy is out) are the priorities in the January window.

Yet again centre half is pushed to the back of the queue when we have no cover for Stones and Ottamendi as Kompany is always injured and Mangala can't do the job and looks to be off to Inter. This is the area we are most vulnerable but Pep undoubtedly has a plan I haven't thought of!

Perhaps Yaya?

during the summer we spent too much mainly because every player was experienced and quality , this January we should do good housekeeping and prep up for the summer,
first remind Gunn of his chance to be no 2 next summer
second approach Southampton over their price for Virgil Van Dijk for next summer remind him of our interest?
third i would have bought Henry but he has an injury , we should not want another first choice or cup tied player. a loan is the way i would go. their are agents everywhere desperate to get their players into the league
fourth Barkley a cheeky bid , if we get him okay if we push Tottenhams price up great
fifth Sanchez a cheeky bid if we get him great if we get him in the summer on a free brilliant
this leaves a good sized budget for a top class player hopefully

I think the summer will be difficult with the World Cup. If we can get some business done for Sanchez in the next window and a LB it will mean less to do in the summer. So many players will be at the World Cup, it could be quite a disjointed start for us.

In my opinion we need another top class centre back because we simply can't rely on Kompany to stay fit. Stones is brilliant but I feel although Otamendi is good, and much improved this season, he's still our weakest regular starter. Get someone as close to being as good as a fully fit Vinny.

We also need a young left back that can defend well and has pace, but is willing to play second fiddle to Mendy once he's back.

And a central midfielder that can tackle like Kante, read the game like Barry did and pass like de Bruyne. So virtually impossible then. But if he has the first two he'd be a good Fernandinho replacement next season.

A young, fast striker as cover for Kun/Jesus.

If we pick up Sanchez and Ghoulam in January and we can somehow get Vinny fit I think this could be the best season yet. Them three would bolster the numbers, give us even more strength in depth and allow us to tackle all three domestic trophies and the big one. We really do have a squad with no obvious weakness and these three, plus Julian Weigl in the summer would set us up for years to come. Do people agree or am I just getting too giddy.

Need someone to cover Ferna, a CB and LB.

putting in an offer for Sanchez in January will be very interesting indeed and what kind of offer we will even consider. No doubt we won't go wild or offer anywhere near what we did before the last deadline

Personally think that the World Cup would be a good thing all players know well in advance that they are wanted by a club and would defo want it sorted before the World Cup so they can concentrate on it.

City media watch suggest it's the Lyon player Mouctar Diakhaby and NOT Rooney ;-)
would be funny if it was an Everton player, the blue dippers would be in melt down if another player left for us, even though they don't really have any players good enough for us.
