January transfer window....

There's a few players I think would be fantastic for us the now.

First and foremost a good playmaking central midfielder. Arturo Vidal would be the ideal target, but he is doing fantastic with Juventus and he only recently signed with them so I doubt we could get him for a FFP friendly fee. Another few target's Hamsik from Napoli or Fellaini, both would demand high fees.

If Balotelli goes I would love to see falcao take his place as I feel that would be an upgrade for us.

However FFP targets I would have to go:
Isco
Victor Wanyama
Alexis Sanchez if available for a cut deal price.

Another would be Tony Watt from Celtic, scored against Barcelona recently and would be available, like most Scottish players, for buttons. After all Jelavic wasn't a bad deal for Everton.

Why would Vidal want to leave Juve or Sanchez leave Barca? Sanchez for one didn't want to come here in the first place.

Vidal would be the perfect signing but it's just impossible. Any other Italian club and we could get him but Juve are strong and making plenty of CL money again. It'd take a mind blowing offer that we probably can't do in the new FFP era.

That was an ace post until you mentioned Tony Watt.

One of the better things about bringing a couple of players from overseas during January is that it gives them time to settle into the English game, which will stand us in good stead come next season's CL.

Sinclair needs more opportunities to show his skills. We should sign with another winger only if he fails.

Isco would be amazing!

Unless we get through the champs league group- highly unlikely
No point spending, go with what we have and rebuild next summer
With or without Mancini

Our last three January transfer windows have consisted of:
Pizarro on loan
Džeko for £27m
Johnson for £7m

Not a great deal of business done and to be honest there's very rarely anyone very decent available.
and Paddy Vieira

We've done ok business in Jan in the past. Thought Pizarro was ok for us in the run in last year. Didn't play much but was decent cover. Dzeko, legend. Johnson, good for the price, sold for profit. Vieira I thought was a great 'steady the line' acquisition to close out games.

This time round I'm not expecting any buys, maybe the odd loan in/out. If we get anyone I'd like to see value for money, pace, youth, creativity (Isco?).
