January transfer window

Now the summer window is shut will Tixi and Soriano start working on deals for January. According to reports we started work on some of our summer targets last year so it is feasible.

Well if I was them I would be looking at getting a top class LB, we are subpar in that department, Kolarov defensively and Clichy offensively (and he's not been too good defensively of late too). Definite weak spot in our squad compared to other positions. Also i would be looking at a decent mobile but solid, tough DM to replace Garcia with, we don't have a Pure DM in the squad besides him at the moment.

In my opinion our next dealings, whether they be next in January or next summer, should be selling Lescott and getting a replacement, selling Garcia and getting a replacement and selling Kolarov and getting a replacement. I think they could all be replaced by better, younger players on less wages.

Mangala, Gundogan and Coentrao would be ideal :)

Although I don't know how that would leave us on the homegrown front.

It would be great to offload Garcia and Kolorov, maybe Lescott but it would not be easy as their contracts put them on mad wages. Lescott would be the easiest to move as he has only one year left. The other two have under performed for us and their wages would be a problem for other teams even remotely interested. When these are moved then new players could be introduced,it would be a bonus if it was January.

We should cross the home-grown front when we get to that bridge. I'm sure we'll have enough EDS lads we can register. As you've pointed out, these are the players we urgently need to shift and there must be better, cheaper and younger alternatives out there.

Left back, and centre back are a must for replacement's and I would also add Dzeko to that list. By all accounts Mancini was going to bin him for Falcao and by the way he's tearing up France, we should have got him when he was available.
