Clyne's a good choice but I doubt Southampton will want to part with him at this stage of the season.
Nobody really wants to part with a player in January but the extra cash infusion is going to tempt someone who's a) not in Europe this season b) realizing their realistic table position. Southampton checks on both.
I wouldn't mind going for clyne at all. I've bashed anybody who's wanted to sell micah all season... but honestly, if we got clyne as his replacement, I'd be OK with it. Clyne is a player. Superb athlete with good technique and work rate. Plays a decent ball in too and would fit the system well.

-- Tue Dec 17, 2013 8:18 pm --

They will want to finish high as possible and a Europa League place is well within their capabilities. Most importantly they will have to look for a replacement as well. Difficult when teams have only a month to complete their business. Plus he will want to do his best for the club that gave him his opportunity and not totally shit on them.
Crystal palace? .... They have chambers, another very talented young gun from the academy who played RB at the beginning of the season when clyne was out. I'm not saying I think they'd being willing to sell, but with the right money anything can happen
