If Txiki retires in a couple of years there is someone who has a good understanding of the club with experience of being a DoF in the Premier league.

Totally agree, but he deserves to be involved at a higher level.Is leaving us to go to Southampton as Director of Football. His contribution, particularly in terms of player sales that have contributed to our profits, has been fantastic. Sorry we're losing him but wish him all the best.
I wonder if we have some sort of "arrangement" with Southampton, not a bad club to have one with if we do.
