Javi Garcia

He showed one moment of class with that run down the right in the 2nd half, but he still needs to convice me he is worth all that money.

And I will never get over the fact we sold De Jong for £3 million, never!

And then failed to find any of the 4 City players in the box.

Garcia is nowhere near good enough for this City squad IMO

He had 96% pass completion so that cross and one other were all he missed all game. Not that it is remotely valid in judging a holding midfielder for his wingplay.

In his last 6 games we've kept 5 clean sheets.

De jong couldn't dominate in the air like he can, wasn't a threat from set pieces wasn't even fast, wanted much higher wages, was older, was more likely to get booked on reputation. Also he turned down the best wage offered to any defensive midfielder in the world.

The only reason we sold him for a measly 3 million isnt terrible management its NDJ deliberately running down his contract and turning down an unpredentedly well paid one.

Im fucking sick of hearing about NDJ ....he wanted a move and he got it. he has gone so fuck him.

Javi is getting to grips with the prem and he will be just fine. The signs are good and he will get better.

He didn't want a move. City decided we didn't need a destroyer - rightly so in my opinion. Javi Garcia is a better all round player

De Rossi would have something to say about that.

NDJ wanted first team football as well as a good wage. If Barry played sub he'd be swayed imo.

I agree, time to move on, he wasn't a 'key player', for the way some harp on you'd think it was Silva.

If you watch that cross, it's a fantastic cross. Right infront of the 6 yard box.

A cross isn't a shit one just because it doesn't find anyone. The guy managed to outpace Tevez and Dzeko on a run, with the ball, to the box.

He wanted too much. Don't want to have a go at de Jong too much as a great servant but he started 11 games last season. He had missing elements required for our team.

He didn't want too much IMO, he wanted to be on a par with his team mates!( I don't mean Yaya or Tevez, just the £100 G men, which is most of the first team/big money buys) As for missing elements required for our team, he provided the cover for Yaya to push forward in the tight games, Garcia is too slow and can't read the game half as well as NDJ!

All these stats being quoted about Garcia's passing accuracy being above 90%, number of passes, etc, hardly surprising when he immediately offloads a short pass as soon as he gets it and either plays it square or back to the nearest team mate about 12 feet away!!
He doesn't seem to me to have any confidence on the ball bringing it forward.
Milner and Barry in the centre of midfield should be first choice for me while Yaya is away.

When we played Barry and Yaya we had two players bringing the ball forwards and we were nowhere near as solid defensively as we are with Garcia.

People have different priorities in football but personally I'm delighted to see a strong and tactically aware player like Javi drop back and look to nullify any counters (which are our achilles heel). His passing is very safe and uninspiring (I posted the stats as people say he can't pass to his team mates most of the time - clearly untrue) and more than likely that's exactly what Mancini wants.

What part of his job is Garcia actually bad at?
