Seemed to deal with the Stoke players easily. Pleased that he is able to slot into the defender role so comfortably.

Yes, but how will he handle playing away at Stoke on a cold January day?

The real question is, how would he cope with it at York away?
He's got to prove himself on a cold Wednesday night at Stoke surely?

This guy is improving every game. Comparisons with Nige are irrelevant. Lets get behind him.

One thing he does a lot better than Yaya is defend better and tackles but he can't do the runs YAYA does even though this season he hasn't done that many

He is really starting to settle. Think he will only get better. I think he is starting to show he is better than De Jong. He is a bigger presence than NDJ. But we also need explosive midfielders who can actually run forward with pace. So that our midfield isn't too slow. We only have Yaya....and Rodwell has potential for that.

He's getting better put to say he has pace is way off the mark.

Javi was good today.

How many good players have not performed on a freezing cold day in Stoke against a very physical team.

When we lost Vinny today i was worried that we may not match them physically, but Javi got stuck in and at no time in the game were we outmuscled.

Sorry folk still not seeing what he does. He is a midfielder who is not brillent at tackling or tracking back, he has no pace ( slower than Barry ) The only thing I reckon he is ok at is he gets his head to opposition corners

Your blind then the ONLY thing he hasn't got is pace! Mancini thinks he's good enough and that's good enough for me

Sorry if i expressed myself wrong. Didn't mean Garcia has pace...quite the opposite. He is pretty slow, like Barry. And we need to make sure we have the right balance and buy/make sure we have some explosive midfielders (like Yaya, Ramires etc..) as well.

Garcia reads the game well, covered in back 4 today without any fuss, always available for a pass, good at set pieces. With Barry, Milner & Garcia in midfield we have not missed Yaya and we have not conceded a goal so far this year. Adjusting well in his first season.

I agree with waspish and having pace is overrated ,most of the players with loads of pace are quite average.Gaz Baz is fuckin slow yet everywhere .
