Javi Garcia

About 7 or 8 of his mates were sat in the box behind me in 202. They were quality. Had 'G A R C I A' painted across their chests and were singing Javi Garcia songs all game, cheering his every touch. If he had scored from a corner, they would have gone mental! It made me focus on his individual performance more than I would normally, and I agree, he was fantastic today.

Another consistent good game from it. So good at collecting loose balls and covering for out of position players. Yet he was getting stick from loads of the guys around me. May never quite get the critics on this one...

I'm afraid the naysayers have hung drawn and quartered him on the basis of his (admittedly awful) opening half dozen games for us, mate, and they're too dim to now see the light. Garcia was rock solid again today, and against a top team. Won all his tackles, made all of his passes, composed in possession. Pipped to MotM only by Milner, Nasty and Ya Ya. I for one am warming to the lad, and I never thought I'd say that after his displays at Wigan and Dortmund
Well put

Ha, yes they were entertaining. I was willing him to score to see their reaction.

His best performance in a City shirt. Tannoy gave Milner MOM, but I would have said Garcia. Won everything and his passing was good

I think the injury he picked up just after joining meant he started the season at way less than 100%. Since the turn of the year he's looked worth what we paid and has the potential to be a sound Barry replacement.

He did well today but it was mainly due to the fact we had that extra midfielder in there so he didn't have to cover as much ground, I wouldn't get too carried away he still treads water at times.

Top banana from him today. Didn't put a foot wrong. He read the game very well.

Barry often struggles against Chelsea because of their pace and movement in midfield, especially from Ramires. But I thought Mata was quiet and while Ramires was one of Chelsea's better players he didn't get chance to cause any damage at all.

So do a lot of players. It's about systems and players and a manager getting a team together which takes advantages of his playing squad.
