I thought Javi was excellent today.

He tackled well, covered a lot of ground and found his team-mates with his passes.

I really don't know what more he has to do to convince some of his knockers on here.

It's speed of mind that he's lacking, playing against a team that hustles he struggles, I do think this system suits him more though, he physically has less space to cover and more options immediately to hand

I have been supporter of Javi since he came and today he vindicated that support with a fine performance.

Compare his performance today with that of Obi Mikel. Our attack minded players constantly by passed Mikel and his defending for Yaya's goal was very poor. He was caught in possesion and his passing wasnt good.

Javi coped well with closing down the space usually occupied by Mata, won a few tackles cleanly and was always open in space to recieve the ball and he kept possesion effectively.

I doubt Javi will ever light up a football match, but if he continues in his current grain of form he will do just fine. He is footballers footballer. The simplicity to his game allows others to play much in the way Barry does.

Getting better without a doubt and i believe we have a good one in him.

At the start of the game sky were talking the fact that rodwell and garcia were in the side as a weakness. Good to see that they both proved the doubters wrong.
