Javi Martinez

Agreed, playing a high line wouldn't make much sense considering the pace we have and our creative players thrive on using the space behind.
Playing a high line would not only nullify our strengths but would expose our weakness too.

I think some will confuse defending/pressing high up the field and defending with a high line.

Ofc we'll play with highline, it's the only way to compress the space in front and prepare to press/regain the ball quickly. We've just bought B.Silva to play this way.
If you think we'll sit deep and just hit on counters, you're probably forgetting that our coach isn't Mou or Mancini.

His last sentence is confusing himself because you need a high to press high up to field else there are massive gaps and the pressing is useless

Oh no, OB1, he's painfully slow... do you remember the beast accelerating away from him in Munich a few years back?? Bill is faster than him when running towards a buffet

As stated though, his pace isn't an issue, he's positinally very good and doesn't lose the ball an awful lot. He'd be better at the pivot for us though, but understand the need for flexibility.

We'll have to disagree for now; at least on how we define s l o o o o o o o w :) He's not Usain but he's not some carthorse. Of course, he might not even be a target.

Read his last sentence..... he's spot on!
