Last 2 seasons
Mahrez: 95 games, 38 goals, 18 assists
Doku: 62 games, 6 goals, 10 assists

Last season
Mahrez: 47 games, 24 goals, 9 assists
Doku: 18 games, 2 goals, 2 assists

Mahrez has just come off his best season of his career and he’s “fading”? Doku is coming off a season where he played just 18 games due to 2 hamstring injuries, 2 knee injuries and a calf injury and he’s “better”?! Dembélé mk 2.

Maybe to suggest he has the potential to be better than Mahrez is reasonable, but to say he’s flat out better is just batshit.
I have often said that Marhez flatters to deceive when his goals hide poor performances, albeit some very important goals, so you will understand that i am not calling the player we have just bought for £45 million for playing only 23 games, or the player we bought for £100 million for scoring 3 goals, it is work rate, and that work rate will be exposed even more when we take out a player from midfield next season, i am guessing that pep will expect the four to do the same job, possession 3 seconds to win the ball back ext, that five did last season, Marhez and Doku have similarities though, both won the league at minnow club while being a major player, Marhez was at his peak then.

Fucking hell learn how to use punctuation. So many commas in one place. Also this is gibberish I can’t make head nor tail of it. Who are the players you are been talking about? And how does it support the point you’re making? (Genuine question).

You seem to be assuming that Pep will change from a midfield 3 to a midfield 2/4. I’d love to know how you found out this information. You must be good mates with the back room staff yeah?

Literally making shit up. Doku has never won anything.

sorry your right Doku has won nothing, i am assuming that Pep will change from five in midfield now he has a striker but not the one holding midfielder, i do not know why you do not know who we signed this year for £45 million or who we signed last season for £100 million, as for punctuation i see no reason to learn how to use it, it was not punctuation that stopped you understanding my gibberish.

Repeating things I've said earlier in this thread but, as someone who watches almost every Rennes game, Doku is still way, way too inconsistent and wasteful to be anywhere near our level, IMO. I don't even really rate Palmer all that much but I'd sooner have Cole starting for us than Doku at the minute.

He's capable of great displays like last night, but not all that often. And to be honest, the opposition was pretty awful. Very regular injury issues too.

There's certainly potential there, and I hope he can reach it, but there's still a long road ahead for him. And out of all of Rennes' star wingers of the last few years - Dembele, Raphinha, Terrier, and Sarr - I'd rank Doku dead last at the minute. And the only one I'd want near a City squad would be Terrier.

Would you take Majer for CM?

I've brought up his name in the players who would improve us thread, yeah. Really like him and think Pep could work wonders with him.

Might need a little adaptation period, but he's such a smart player. So creative and consistent. Feel like he's got all the traits needed to thrive in a team like ours and he'd be a very handy Bernie replacement if/when Bern leaves. Plus, Rennes have a bit of a habit of letting very good players leave for relatively low fees so he wouldn't cost the earth like certain other midfield talents.

Been wanting him for some time. Him and Diaby would make excellent wingers in our system, switching left to right without a problem as well.
