A salutory lesson for some blues, this guy has just shown a masterclass in defending and yet he was derided by many blues on here. Can't believe we also had van buyten but he left under different circumstances.

For Boateng read Javi Garcia and Edin Dzeko vastly underrated players who are not given the wholehearted support they deserve. It's when the going gets tough that the fans stick behind players,if it still doesn't work out then at least we the fans can say we did give them the best chance to succeed.

The jury is still out on Garcia but lets give him time for him to show us his best.

He was derided because in a blue shirt he was fucking useless. He didn't want or try to fit in and it showed. Personally couldn't give a fuck how he's doing now because even if he was still here you can be damn sure he wouldn't be playing like this for us.

Boom.

He was gash for us.
He had a knee injury and had just come into the team. His class was obvious and he got unwarranted stick

Sorry, but you believe a player signs a four year contract with absolutely no intention of seeing it out.

He didnt get off to a great start, but you could see his quality on the ball, but because he didn't throw himself into tackles zabaleta style he was derided and became a victim of the boo boys.

Under these circumstances, and if you're not being appreciated, who wouldn't want to move.

While I agree he didn't impress a great deal, let's not forget that he missed a fair bit of that season due to injuries, meaning he never got an extended run in the team. I'm not sure I buy the line that he wasn't really interested while he was here - he endured a frustrating season and his head was turned by Bayern's interest at the end of that campaign.
