This all day. It is fascinating how we all see things differently. His crossing yesterday was great, which others failed to capitalise on, he won multiple corners, which we failed to do anything with and his work rate is phenomenal. He gets us out of trouble so many times by taking the ball across the pitch when we're stuck for options, this is a really good trait. Ultimately I've concluded that it depends what you think about a player as to how you actually see him play, not how he really plays. He didn't play 105 games yesterday, he played 1 and it was a decent one. He created plenty of chances and, other than hitting the post from a tight angle, the misses were down to other players.
He's been used to give Sterling a well needed rest and did well. We'd struggle to find another player of the same ability who is content being used mainly for rotation.
A replacement in the summer wouldn't be a bad idea but it's pretty low down on our list of priorities in my opinion.
