It's baffling. I don't think I'm on the level either...I'm with him fully and I trust him but some adjustments have to be made and they need to be made soon. His stubbornness for playing three in the back against good teams has burnt us multiple times IMO.

3 at the back was 100% the correct formation to use on the weekend and Pep got his tactics spot on so it's weird to criticise. We created more opportunities against Chelsea than any team has in this run of theirs, and we should have won convincingly but for the players letting Pep down in the opposition 6 yard box which he can't control.

I suppose you're probably correct. We have consistently had poor results playing a back three though. The everton game wasn't a fair result either.

Great point and well made. I think when we lose, people just want to pin blame somewhere.

Yeah, it would've worked perfectly had Kompany been fit and starting I reckon.

Was it 100% correct this match? Three at the back and starting navas vs good teams is a complete disaster. When Navas is in the starting x1 points are getting dropped. BPL unused 13/15 points. BPL sub 13/15. BPL starts 4/15. I went back to last year and we picked up 15 points in the last 12 games he started and quit looking things up after that. I don't think it's a coincidence at all. He's garbage.
The point I'm making is that you gave me shit for criticizing the combo of a back three/navas combo when my gut told me that it's a recipe for disaster.

Fundamental mistakes.
1. Nolito has to start.
2. Navas mustn't start.
3. Our best system is with the inverted backs
4. Gundagan,Silva and kdb is a problem.
5. Silva needs to play the pivot

Bring back buster Phillips
Depressing watching the United goal and wondering if Navas would ever score a goal like that. He would have tried to square it straight to the defender. Despite his workrate his assist and goal scoring record make it baffling that he is chosen ahead of others.
I was just thinking that perhaps Pep thinks that if you're a great footballer you can fit into any position or system - sadly he is not working with those sorts of players at our club and needs to formulate a more rigid plan until he brings some more players with the right capabilities in.
