Jesus Navas

If we're replacing him with a younger/more talented player, then fair enough. Otherwise, he's a useful player to keep, and particularly handy against better teams when we've got to be more defensive. But with him and Milner going, that's 2 wide players we'd have to bring in. If we replace them with Sterling and De Bruyne, then fair enough.

I think Navas gets a bit of a raw deal from some City fans. As others have pointed out, he works hard for the team and had our joint most assists last season, ahead of both Silva and Milner.

His reluctance to take on his full back frustrates at times, but our system is based on a patient approach and retaining possession. It's possible that he's under manager's orders not to risk losing the ball by continually trying to dribble.

He's not perfect, and it's an area we are clearly looking to strengthen in, but at under £15m I think he's represented decent value for money.

That is clearly the case. It would be nice to see him given the freedom to cut inside now and again and get a shot in - if only to keep the defenders guessing

Agree. I honestly reckon he's instructed to hold the ball in that area. God only knows why.

If he leaves, he'll have done us proud while here.

What a load of tosh. He is not under managers instructions to not take on players. The reason he doesn't is he lacks the ability and is gash at decision making.

I haven't seen us linked to a out and out winger like Navas. Wouldn't class Sterling as an out and out winger. It will be like when we got rid of Johnson. Even though he wasn't good, he still gave us a different dimension to our game.

I expect if he is going the club has someone lined up. It may not be like for like but I would expect it to be an overall upgrade.

Regardless, only a couple of unreliable Twitter accounts are reporting this so there's probably nothing in it.

I don't suppose we will ever know for sure but it has often crossed my mind that he looks under instruction to put retaining possession ahead of the risk of running with the ball and potentially losing possession. Could just be a confidence thing though I suppose.
