It’s a nightmare for the womens game isn’t it?Another ACL , rife amongst women players
I’d love to know what injury insurance if any these WSL players have.

You're right, it is a disaster. She has been fantastic - but makes no huge difference about Blakstad and Castellani's going as they were nowhere near her level.Hope she makes a full recovery. It’s a disaster. We have let Blackstad and Castellanos go too. We are very light on numbers.
I haven't seen any rumours of new players arriving whilst I agree Blackstad and Castellanos were not at the same level they were actually bodies to bring on. Wednesday isn't far off, looks like we will be set for the rest of the season with the players already here. You're right, it is a disaster. Maybe the low numbers means we can get someone in before deadline on Wednesday.
Thats right. My daughter is studying this at Loughborough University at the moment and she told me it's women's wider hips that creates a different angle to the knee to men and causes greater stress to the ACL. This combined with the increased amount of fixtures at elite level is causing problems. The only way to reduce the risk of injury is to reduce the amount of fixtures they play.Interesting Kaz , there is a study looking at why more women than men statistically have this issue. One thought was that hip width might be an issue I think anyway there are some studies happening.
If hip width is a possibility, how comes Luke Shaw hasn't had it?Interesting Kaz , there is a study looking at why more women than men statistically have this issue. One thought was that hip width might be an issue I think anyway there are some studies happening.

ACL's are never "speedy" sadly.Hoping for a full and speedy recovery.
