Jim Davidson

Tory supporting cockney twat who refused to move with the times. Very funny man when he first started but it was acceptable to be racist back then. Times changed, he didn't and thankfully he's no longer considered worthy of air time.

I do like though that he goes and does a lot of shows for the troops in Afghanistan and he pays for the flights and stuff all himself unlike many "celebs" nowadays.

They demand fucking all sorts of special crap and treatment.

Yeah , he did get a bit close to the bone at times with his racist comedy , but as you point out he was far from alone in those days , look at the comedy Love thy neighbour for a start !

Even Rigsby ...... how he got away with half of what he said in Rising Damp is anyones guess!

I did like Jim Davidson though , but apparently he left the country to live in Dubai from 2004-2010 , and since his return he just seems to have drifted into the comedy wildeness a bit ...... i think he just entertains the troops as much as anything else nowadays.
 
And has also raised lots of money for our brave soldiers that fight abroad. He also goes to entertain them all over the world free of charge.
Clarkson does the same and is lauded.
Davidson is a **** because he's been doing it for 25 years.

I had his live show on vinyl when I was still at school and he was a very funny man. He just didn't evolve.

So because he does charity work for the forces that makes him exempt from criticism for his vile racist outlook?

What kind of bizarre fucking logic is that? Christian Bale went out to see some of the victims of the Colorado shootings this week and was widely praised for it. Fair play to him for that. But does that no longer make him not a weird horrible prick for allegedly punching his own mother two years ago?

There is only one thing worse than a racist IMO and that's a supposedly funny racist with a microphone because their material is then perpetuated at countless black kids in playgrounds across the country.

If a soldier aired racist views I'd view him in return as a colossal **** and he goes out and does the actual fighting and puts his life on the line.
So someone who flies out to make jokes about 'ragheads' then flies back is hardly going to be deemed exempt is he.
 
The main problem with Jim Davidson is that is isn't funny,he never was,he can't tell a joke,you could write him the funniest material in the world but he couldn't deliver it,whereas one of his contemporaries,manning,could make a any joke poor or otherwise funny.
