Jimmy Savile

There's plenty of well known eccentric celebrities who looks a bit oddball'ish - doesn't automatically make them a peado

Benny Hill did it on screen and was respectable off it, but it was it a case of art imitating life with his show?

I’m too young to have grown up when he was relevant but how could anyone look at Jimmy Savile and not think “that guy is a massive nonce”.

He literally looked like a cartoon pedeophile, I’ve never been able to wrap my head around it.
Yeah, as a kid i always thought he was odd.

My Mum hated him though, she couldn't stand to watch him on TotP or Jim'll fix it or any of his charity walks etc, she'd always walk out the room mumbling that he was a perv.

Benny was a comic playing characters. Outdated now, but at the time he was very popular. His show was sexist by todays standards, but I don't recall any elements of peodophillia in it, or even any suggestion of it. I may be wrong though and I'm happy to be corrected.
Very much of its time, and thankfully we have moved on.

A impeccable judge of character.

I grew up in the 70's/80's and I though he was a creepy weirdo. I remember my dad had a load of recordings of 'Saville's Travels' from his Radio 1 days. The premise of the programme was he'd travel up and down the country and talk to ordinary folk and play a few records in between interviews.

All adds to the picture of a guy that moved around a lot, but hid in plain sight

Yep she did have, she never liked Dave Lee Travis either.

Yeah characters, just groping, peeping tom and up skirting stuff.
