If it was a TV show i wouldn't be happy as the nut job keeps doing shows with overly elaborate plots that end up shit. For a film though he might be a good choice as the new Star Trek film was done pretty well. He manged to give Star Trek its spark back that it had with the original crew that was lost with Piccard and his overly PC shite.
