João Félix

He was always going to need time to improve, I disagree with some posters who say Atletico was a bad choice for him, I think he picked well.

Spanish side, so easy to settle in.
They play with a #10 and that's his best position.

We could never afford him though, and I don't see this position as necessary as an actual striker like Haaland who should be our target.

I think he would have hit the ground running if he had come here for about 60-80m as was being suggested at the time.

Once he went to Atletico he was always going to face a sink or swim period where he adapted to Simeone or not.

If he has, he will get incredible amounts of plaudits because he'll he the one guy in the atletico side that has that license to produce magic.

I said when he was at Benfica that I thought he would replace Messi at Barcelona and I think that's still on target. Another 18 months at Atleti and he will be perfect for Barcelona.

Yeah at the time I really wanted him too.

Dunno if Atletico will sell him to Barca so soon unless they pay up, and I hear their finances aren't great...

he may well be perfect for barcelona, as for other clubs. Do you think they will be able to afford a 140 /160 million transfer by then. They are a bit short of readies .

They have monumental revenue, and we all know they can save €100m+ when Messi eventually leaves.

I suspect Barcelona's money issues will be fairly short term. Their outstanding debt is something like 120% of revenue which is big but not catastrophic.

It's things like FFP and internal club rules that will handcuff them more than real financial jeopardy.

Yes, they did have monumental revenue and the aim will be to get back to that level. They have ditched plans for the 600 million stadium renewal. Desperate for players to take a cut in salary. So getting to the stage where they can offer monumental size bids may be a while coming. I suppose it may depend on a decent firesale.

aren't they due to pay Messi 100+m for seeing his contract out ?

I love this kid , feel he would be a special talent for us if he signed especially the way we play . If I was spending the money Felix would be the player scores creates and entertains he be brilliant for us a player a feel we must get at the right age and will improve .

Agree, however he'd cost a fortune.

He would but his value would constantly increase.

He is an outstanding talent and without doubt one of the great players in the years to come.

I would love the club to pull out all the stops to get this guy, he would become our icon and give far better long term value than a 34 yr old coming to the end of his career.

He looks a superb player, but probably at the wrong club. I'm probably in the minority but think Simeone is a superb manager, but it can't be much fun playing in his team's. Felix probably needed to go to somewhere were they play more attacking football.

Everything I've seen tells me he would be superb at City. Fast, great feet, vision and can finish. I think Pep would turn him into one of the very best players in the world.

Stay strong buddy.

I agreed with him being at the wrong club but there was an article about him in The Grauniad Fri/Sat about since signing Luis Suarez they're playing a more attacking style. I think it said Felix had 6 goals in his last 5 games for AM. Generational player

Clearly something isn't clicking for him currently. Whether it's that he doesn't fit into the team or he's stepped up too far I'm not sure but I sense a coutinho style loan on the near future.

????

Why would Atletico loan out someone with 7 goals and 3 assists in 10 games this season?

Was poor last night, but thinking we might get this talent on a loan is magical.
Perhaps we could send Mahrez the other way, and suggest a straight swap. -)
