João Félix

We might if we don't have room in the squad for him until 20/21 and we don't want to risk losing out on him by waiting.

Surely then a clause that we don’t have to honour the deal if he gets a serious injury in his loan season?

Any solid or reliable sources quoting anything on this?

Don't think so but then again think we are struggling for reliable sources this summer after Sam Lee and co had to backtrack over Bruno Fernandes. Seems the club are keeping their cards very close to their chests as to how things are progressing, if not about the targets themselves.

Think Duncan Castles is miraculously emerging as the most reliable source so far this summer.

Doubt it, it sounds like he is being sold this summer so we would need to buy him then loan him, so he’s our player. Especially if we may be banned next summer he’d have to be registered with us and loaned. The way I see it if Sane leaves we would need him now, if Sane stays we would struggle to fit him in until next summer when Silva and Gundogan go. Thing is if we are banned we need to be ready for losing Silva , Gundogan and probably Fernandinho next summer now.

If he's as good as you all think he is there would be room regardless.

Loan him out or have him with Pep for a season who atm only has 2 years left on his contract?
I’ve no idea how good he is, never seen him apart from a couple of clips. I’m just going off the squad numbers and the possible ban to suggest how a loan could work out for us. I see the Pep point but maybe / hopefully he’ll extend, but even if he doesn’t we can’t plan the next few years just around what Pep might do contract wise.
As we go into his last two years the club may have some idea of his plans and maybe we will have to start looking beyond Pep.

Surely a year in the English culture, getting to know the club, system, manager and players would be better for him?

Guardiola, for João Félix: The City offers a salary of 30 million for 5 years

In the last hours, the City has put on the player's table a huge offer. João Félix now earns 1.5 million euros a year, a salary that Benfica has wanted to improve as long as it points to a renewal with a new clause of 200 "kilos". However, the player does not want to renew and Manchester City, to finish making it decide, has made a dizzying offer to the playmaker: he will pay an annual salary of 6 million euros net for 5 seasons. That is, a salary of 30 million for five years. A salary that is not within the reach of Real Madrid, Atlético, Juventus or United itself, which did not go beyond offering a chip between 2.5 and 3 million clean a year.

The offer, really good, is already on the table of João Félix And perhaps it is what ends up convincing the young pearl definitively. For its part, the Benfica sends any movement to the termination clause, but Manchester City continues to negotiate, and met several times with Luis Felipe Viera, the president "embodied" and has made an offer above 100 million to get that the player leaves Portugal and ends this summer in the Premier League. Time will tell, but no one can doubt that the City is the best placed club to sign a player who is revolutionizing the market and has a promising future. The City wants to burst the bank and Guardiola could have a new star for his "citizen" sky.

Hmmm any report suggesting we outpay the Rags and Real deserves its place in the bin.
