He's had a good pre-season, and young players like Poborsky and Forlan prove that young players can take some time to adapt. Surely we haven't seen the best of a Brazilian international centre-forward?

Spot on Marvin. The centre of discussion between me and a few blues was exactly that, I think he has been playing to show his worth for us rather than put him in the shop window. Watch this space!

I just think that someone is giving him time to be looked at, which is good.

Not sure whether that will mean he will become good but at least he is now being considered. He seemed to get sidelined a little prematurely after all.

He is certainly putting a shift in but there is something just not quite right with him BUT he is trying and that is all any fan can ask

To be fair, based on pre-season, i'd have Jo in the team ahead of Adebayor... But thats only based on pre-season.

I think he has looked good pre season and the time at Everton won't have done him any harm getting games.

This is going to sound harsh, but Jo seems to me a bit like a Brazilian Samaras (i.e. a step up in level, but with similar problems). He has moments of real skill and great finishes, but then cocks up the most simple pass or chance.

He clearly has talent, it's just producing it consistently enough and getting rid of stupid mistakes that's the problem. Whether he could produce it here given the correct coaching and match time who knows.

I dont think he has been that spectacular, yes he has scored goals but he has not been amazing, he gave away possession a few times today and could have been better. In previous matches he has had one on one opportunities which he should of converted but didnt.
