Jo. Is it clicking into place?

Definately looks a better option than RSC who is just too injury prone to consider keeping.

Really though given the option 99.9% of city fans would rather keep Bellamy....

Tevez, Ade, Bellamy, Super Mario would he actually get any games ?

I would keep all these and Jo because we do not have to register Mario. I don't want to keep banging on about RSC but he needs to go and I would love it to be to Fulham.

I think this is another lesson for our fans not to get too cocky with the money coming in. There is too much of the attitude 'oh lets just discard him and buy another striker who is ''better'' suited in the PL'

We need to be loyal to our players like we used to be. I used to talk about Mpenza as if he was god when he was more than average. I know we all used to.

For me Jo is a great player who will improve unless he pulls on another shirt then I am not bothered.

Jo has acted like a dick since he signed for City so we don't owe him anything.

Great if he turns it around, but I won't hold my breath, he still looks far too easily pushed off the ball to me.

TBH its not about Jo, its about us with our get rid attitude that pisses me off. There are many factors why he might have come across as a dick. What springs to my mind is being new to a country, bad company in Robinho and Elano, had a hard time fitting into the PL like alot of quality players etc....

But this shouldn't be used against him now. All these factors are of the past, it shouldn't hold him down or our view of him.

Its much more powerful to support the players with love than hate. It will even encourage them more than criticism.

i know im gonna get some shit for this but.. jo, ade robbie and rsc , i would get rid , there is better quality players around and players with a bigger heart than those four put together

You should not get shit for a opinion. What I would ask you is who can we get at this time to improve if we did get rid of all these. Dzeko comes to mind but we cannot get him, his club does not want to sell.

The question is how come he's only suddenly beginning to look like a decent prospect when he's been awful for so long? And I suspect if any of us can answer that one we'd be in the business of management ourselves.

dzecko is exactly the person i would love to see here, i understand what you mean about his club, but im sure everyone has his price and we may have to be patient, hate to say this but shrek is another ( i know ,i know and im sorry for that one) but his passion and commitment is brilliant, and another goalscorer who i think is worth a good look at is suarez (ajax)

For anyone who watched Jo at CSKA they will know he has always had the talent to succeed at a high level. Jo in pre season has been a joy to watch. Its like having another new signing. Someone earlier in the thread mentioned about Jo's strength and being pushed off the ball to easily. I'd like to refer you to the moment last night where he out battled the Valencia defender before sseeing his shot rebound off the post.

Jo, when he first joined City, came across as a player who has a personality a bit like Drogba. He needs an arm around his shoulder, a father figure of sorts to look upto. I always put down Jo's behaviour to Hughes man management skills. Jo, obviously didn't like the disciplinarian style that was MH, but seems to be thriving under Mancini. A different style of manager has done this lad no harm whatsoever.

But, dont expect Jo to go out and net 20 goals a season. He isn't that kind of player. Great at linking up with other players, dragging defenders out of position to create space for team mates and he will chip in with the odd goal here and there.

Its not Jo's fault that we paid 19 million for him, yes he was over valued but the blame must lie at the former regime's door. If Jo can carry this form into the new season, forget about Silva, Yaya, Boateng, and Kolarov.

Jo will be the name on everyone's lips.

Good call.

Very under-rated player... this close season he has looked far better than Adebayor, let alone RSC.

Unless we sign Dzeko I would certainly keep hold of him rather than Rocky.

Woahh, let's not get giddy here,he's shown some guts and subsequently some potential.I'm still not convinced he is up to it,but he has earned a second chance and i sincerely hope he turns into the talent we thought we had purchased.

If you put both parts together it reads

If Jo can carry this form into the new season, forget about Silva, Yaya, Boateng, and Kolarov.

Sounds alot better than just that one line ;)

Always been pro Jo cos i have seen his ability many a time for CSKA, it was getting the best out of him where the problem lay

I think Mancini deserves some praise for Jo actually. Obviously he has placed some faith in the Brazilian and he has reaped the benefits. Now, for me, that says a lot about his man management skills when he turns around a player that probably didn't have a cat in hells chance of staying and was looking to leave himself into a player who looks to be playing with a smile on his face, scoring goals in pre-season and looking forward to repesenting us this season as a contender for a place, while accepting he'll have to keep working to get in the team.

I think the new players can bring the best out of Jo. It just goes to show that if you put yourself about, if you net a few goals then the fans will give you another chance. Happened with Caciedo not last season but the one before last didn't it when he went on a run of scoring 7 goals in a short period of games?

This could be a brilliant Manchester City success story if he can stick it out at City and contribute positively.

Question I have for people, hypothetically, if Robinho came back with Jo's attitude would people give him a second chance?
