I didn't see yesterday's match, but how did he play? I was impressed with him against Lisbon. He said he is willing to fight for a spot, is he someone we should reconsider or not? I am over Santa Cruz myself. Would having Adebayor, Tevez, Bellamy, Ballotelli and Jo work?

I am ready for the criticism as well.

He was one of our more useful players. Some nice link-up with Adebayor and a nice goal. Missed something of a sitter (well, a one on one) but overall a better performance than most of our players yesterday.

He did well imo. Linked up well with Adebayor in the first half and he took his goal really well. He missed a sitter in the first few minutes at the end of a cracking move. He should have squared it to Adebayor but instead hit it straight at the keeper.

Showed some good touches, but also looked a little flimsy and slow at times. He had a good game all in all.

Honestly I dont mind him giving it a crack , hes around 23 , still got loads of time . not always the best player but yesterday did look good . It would actually make me smile if he came back in a few seasons after sitting on the bench or going out on loan or wateva and scorin a few goals . Give the lad a chance under mancini if he doesnt get any better than he was in his first season then he can leave

TBH, I thought he looked better than Ade, who's first touch was appalling.

He certainly looked more useful that Santa Cruz has ever done for us.

started a thread on this earlier, i said maybe he should be given a last chance as he looks a bit more grounded on the tour.

but with Mancini talking publicly about trying to sign Torres, maybe Jo might be sent to the Dippers as part of the deal.

Having now see Jo playing alongside someone intead of up there on his own he does look a reasonable prospect. I always felt he was never given a chance under the previous regime because he was effectively a Sven signing. However I'd like to think deserves at least another crack of the whip to see what he can do.

I think Sven / Frank made the initial moves for him but Hughes gave his blessing for the deal to go ahead.
