We certainly need stronger sentences but unfortunately the justice system has essentially collapsed in the UK. Crime actually pays for most criminals. Probably not a topic for this thread though.

Top man, he has some set of cojones on him. Especially when you consider what he has already been through in his young life

Joao Cancelo certainly has inner strength - as you say proved it earlier in life.
Personally I'd rather he'd stayed home with his family, but so long as there are people taking care of them, I wish him well.
Sing loud and proud for him tomorrow lunchtime.

It’s a sad view you have of the world if you just accept this as the norm. We should be striving for a better society where people like Joao who do well for themselves don’t have to live with shit like what happened to him.

There’s a reason why kings and emperors lived in castles surrounded by guards and armies, going back thousands of years. There will always be someone who wants to take what others have.
Even Adam and Eve nicked an apple, if you believe in that sort of thing.
Accepting the stark reality of human nature is very different to liking it
