Probably but as odd as this sound, defending isn't that vital as a fullback compared to ball playing ability and ability to create chances. We operate in a system that has allowed players like Delph and Zinchenko to thrive in a fullback role because we dominate so much of the ball. I'd expect Cancelo to be a menace on the right with his passing ability and he's probably an upgrade on Walker's defending abilities.

True. But from my limited understanding, Juventus are a much more defensive side than us.

It could turn out to be an excellent deal for both clubs.

You’d think so but Walker just signed a long extension so fuck knows.

Walker will still predominantly play right back over the next season or two but will slowly be transitioning into a centre back long term.
