Joao Neves

Looks a hell of a talent and this would no doubt excite Pep to sign an extension to rebuild again with the next world superstar like Neves, Wirtz etc.
 
Looks a very decent prospect. Wonder if he’d come here, given he would have the best DM in the world to usurp.

Maybe he could play as an 8 too as well as a double pivot though.
 
He is a top young player. It would be brilliant if we could get him. He is 19, so learning from the best in the world in Rodri can't be a bad thing. Besides, we have been overplaying Rodri for a couple of years now, so surely there are minutes in there, the less important games that we could offer to Joao Neves, to begin with?
 
i'm not sure Neves will be keen to join us given his competition is Rodri. Rodri who always stable and in form most of time will be very tough to beat.

He likes to score decisive goals against Benfica rivals Sporting.
Physically, do not be deceived by his height. He is already extremely physical and good on contact, especially for a 19 year old, he wins a lot of ground duels against much bigger opponents is also strong in aerial duels. He is a physical freak in terms of burst, power and stamina (with the downside of the height still relevant of course).

To me he doesn't really look like a lone 6 type of a player. Maybe in a double pivot or as an 8 initially and later maybe can take over from Rodri...

If Rodri is fit he plays though. Even in the so called lesser games. Anyone coming in to compete with him would have to be happy being a bench player most of the time
 
Can clearly play in a double pivot 4231 shape, hand held for a season or two before pep throws him in a lone six and kova goes.
